  • The Most Memorable Moments from the Michael Jackson Memorial

Below are several of the most memorable moments from Michael Jackson's memorial...

Magic Johnson's humorous story about how he was shocked to discover that a huge star like Michael Jackson enjoyed Kentucky Fried Chicken gave fans an insider's glimpse into an unknowable icon.

Brooke Shields, a very good friend of Jackson's, shared some of her favorite memories. Ms. Shields choked up a bit at the end of her speech, giving a voice to many in the audience and at home who must have felt the same way.

The Reverend Al Sharpton credited Jackson with demolishing racial barriers. Sharpton also called on fans to not focus on the scars of Jackson's career, but to focus on the journey. To Jackson's kids he said: "There wasn't nothing strange about your daddy."

You wouldn't have expected a 12-year-old from the UK to make a huge impression at the memorial service, but Shaheen Jafargholi's performance of Jackson's "Who's Loving You" inspired a racoucus round of applause.

Jennifer Hudson is no stranger to tragedy. Perhaps that's why her performance of "Will You Be There" came across as one of the memorial's most special moments.

Michael's brother Jermaine Jackson performed MJ's favorite song: "Smile." The lyrics were especially poignant: "Smile, what's the use of crying/You'll find that life is still worthwhile/If you just smile."

Perhaps the most touching moment came at the very end of the memorial when Michael's daughter, Paris, expressed her love for her late father.

Who the hell is this nobody senator that attacked Michael Jackson??

Where was his voice as 4000+ of Americas finest were being slaughtered in a senseless war??

The senator had no problem stomaching 8 years of the murder of thousands of Americans and Iraqis but find it impossible to deal with 10 days of celebrations for the life of a truely great human being and philantropist.

What has the senator contributed to the betterment of mankind??

Michael Jacksons only crime was being black and successful.

This idiot nobody senator and the rest of you haters out there combined cannot begin to compare with Mr. Michael Jackson.

The king is dead................LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!!

I don't know if any one of the Jackson family will see or hear about any of these comments, but if you do I just wanted you to know I am
the same age as Michael grew up listening and always thought he was
a gift. My father was in the music industry and I know what that life can
do to someone. He was larger than life and had a heart of gold.
And for his kids; I lost my parents at a young age, know that he loves
you and you'll be o.k. Always know in your heart he is with you and
loves you. My heart is always with you.

I watched the memorial on TV and i could not control my tears when Brooke Shields was finished with her speech and her voice choked up a bit and she was almost crying and the saddest part for me was when his daughter spoke and ended up crying.I could feel i was part of the audience and all i can say is may his soul rest in peace ,King of Pop, Michael. We love you and will never forget you and your beautiful music.Your legacy will live forever.

Michael, I know you know how much love was present at your service, and the most important job you had here on earth was Daddy, your daughter, Paris, said it all. It was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. Heaven has the greatest entertainer of all time now. RIP

Working in the entertainment industry, I must say that we have as Barry Gordy said lost the Greatest Entertainer of All Time. Michael, I pray that you are now in a place where you are being treated like a person and not a personality.

To The Jackson Family, may God be with you during this difficult time.
Just be there for one another and for Michael's children.

Thank God for the gift of life and the specially added gifts. M.J was a rare gift of God to humanity. I was moved so much by the pressure that we all gave him trying to live his life for him and judging him. He is at PEACE with Him. When the OVATION was loudest. For his immediate family May God grant you the fortitude to bear the loss. For his children keep the loving memories of your father. There can never be another M.J but God is always by your side.

MJ was a genuis. He was sent by GOD to tell the world Love is what makes the world go round. This man was truly a gift from GOD. He gave more money to children , sick and the poor then any other politian and entertainer. The day he die. I sit and watched all of his videos on mtv.com and the one that impress me, was "The Earth" In this song he talked about how we were distroying our world, the words to the song was a message, the video was phonomenal. He was a leader in the Green movement. I celebrated MJ's death, because I realize he would not
suffer any more.He is at rest with GOD. .

His job was done. He suffer enough in life. . He is not lonely anymore. I hope and pray justice will be done with his children and they are not harmed. I am very unhappy with the news media, they help make MJ's life miserable. They are still trying even in death To the people who claimed MJ abused him GOD will deal with them.I am asking all who love MJ don't watch HNN are any station who is trying to distroy his legacy even in death.

If any of the Jackson families reads this, Please know that Indian Dr De pa Cheok (forgive the spelling). The black nurse who spoke on CNN. they both need to lose their license, there is such a law call the HIPPA law they broke. They broke the law . They should be sue by the family and their license revoked. There is a law enforcing confidentiallty.Remember do not watch HNN, CNN and FOX are any other station that continues to distroy MJ's legacy. Thank you GOD for allowing this man in all of our lives. As for as The media comparing MJ to Elvis P.and the Beatles .MJ was loved world wide every one in large nations, and small nations knew MJ and loved him.Countrys that hate the US loved MJ. GOD bless you Micahel Jackson and rest in peace. .He is okay now.No more suffering.
