  • Dubious Distinction: Most Boring City

It's the time of year when thoughts turn to summer getaways. According to a TripAdvisor survey, travelers would rather go to New York, San Francisco, and Miami over, well, Cleveland. That metropolis was voted "most boring city" by vacationers who would prefer even the windy city of Chicago over a boring one.

Cleveland does have some notable aspects that could draw tourists: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is there. And now, so is basketball great Shaquille O'Neal, who recently joined the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland residents should take heart. The Midwestern locale could have been voted "dirtiest" (Detroit), "most annoying accent" (Boston), or "least healthy (Detroit again).

Travelers are a fickle bunch. New York City earned the title of "favorite city" but also won out in the category of "least friendly and helpful." Could vacationers be gluttons for punishment? Maybe after a few more doses of the rude Big Apple, boring won't sound so bad after all.

Hey why "even Chicago"? The thing about Chi-town is its a lot cooler than we really want everyone else to know about but we don't really want you dirty tourists coming in and screwing up our good time and traffic flow. :-) Lying on the beach smoking a hookah, and drinking micro brewed beer from a hammock watching fire spinners, fire works, and fire dancers is really not as bad as you think. But yeah, go to Miami... I'm sure you'll have more fun there... if you like annoying people. :-)

What's with the jab at Chicago? I spent 10 years of my childhood there, and have traveled to many of the US major cities, but Chicago is still my absolute favorite place to go. It has everything New York has PLUS it has friendly and normal Midwestern people!

What a douche, they must have never been to Cleveland You have the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame the Galleria, the flats aren't around anymore but there are plenty of bars and restaurants especially around the ballpark. You have Progressive Field, the "Q" & Cleveland Browns Stadium all in a couple of mile radius.

Then they try to backtrack by knocking other cities all these a-holes think if the city doesn't have hal a million people it's bad or boring that is stupid. I'm not from Cleveland but I have been there plenty of times to know it is anything but boring.

I think this article should get the dubious distinction of dumbest f***** article on yahoo. Congrats to the author.

Chicago always gets left out I haven't been there in about a decade but they have all sorts of museums, bars and pubs, baseball (Cubs) Sears tower. There is an endless possibility in Chicago. I don't get why just because it's not on a coast they are always left out.
