It's interesting to me that Bush and the rest of the Republicans lowered taxes on the wealthy because it benefited them more than the middle and lower classes. Now Obama is raising taxes on the wealthy which includes him so that the middle and lower classes can prosper. This is why I am proud to be a democrat- one of the many that think of others and not just themselves.

With the increase of taxes on the Rich, the gift giving to charity will go done and some case put them out of business. I wonder how much money the Obamas gave to charity and who there are?

does it really matter how much he made? he took all our money and gave it to big corporations. most of that money comes from the middle class and lower class. sure we get a little tax relief now. but thats so we won't cry like babies when we have to pay it back. oh wait a minute it's our children who are going to pay it back. some how this just doesn't sound right.

Food for thought, if I made the exact same thing he made and paid the same he paid I wouldnt mind at all Because most of our tax money he used to run for Pres wasnt out of his pocket or even counted. He didnt worry about the money spent on all those lavish parties or travel or the extra expense of the mother inlaw who lives with them her room and board are paid for by us thats money in her pocket I wonder if she claimed that on her return Hell shes probably on govt payroll as a live in babysitter Wake up people

Why do we need to know this? There are so many other things going on in the world that are newsworthy! Frankly, I'm sure the Obama's are sick of seeing their business being given to everyone.

The prior administration may have given tax cuts to corporations to spur ecomomic development. Sure as heck beats just giving them all our money. Create dependency. Dependency shifts power. Dependency creates complacency. Complacency and dependency enable DEFEAT. Now my grand children are going to have to try to pay off 3 times the defeciet they would have had to 5 months ago. That's all I heard was the grandchildren, the grandchildren. Now you never hear that. Run dems run. Watch how many are running as fast as they can away from him as they can. Now that they see what he really is. If you can't tell that those of his ilk want to control every aspect of your life you may want to ask someone near you if your still breathing!!!

All I can say, if I made that much in one year, Not the President, but the vice president, all my stuff would be paid for in full, with money left over. As far as his books or anything else, that, he worked for. We bought it on the stands. You only make money, if what you are selling, actually sells. It's to early to tell yet what's going to happen. It seems better than what we did have to me though, so far.

Just makes me sick that I had to send money not only to the IRS this morning, but the fact that so many people are making an income of less than the Obama's and Bidden's paid in taxes.

Because he works for the people, and the people pay his salary. People like to know where their money is going, and for what ?

Oh I forgot. Thanks for that $10 a week as I pay 20% or more for everything I buy and my house lost 30% of it's value. If you want to know who created the housing and mortage fiasco research the Community reinvestment act and who was involved with it. Our new savior was their lawyer. If you will read back you will fine that this mess started with Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton increased the problem, Bushed and Chaney warmed what was going to happen. Like Bush or Not it was the good old Demo's that have gotten us in the mess and now we have a President that has know working back ground but he can sure fool a lot of people, but he does have the Rev, Acorn, and people that don't pay their Taxes working for him. The President and his wife are Both Racist, M.L. King would turn over in his grave over Obama, MlK said educated my people, So that they couldn't be denied Jobs, advancement. He didn't wont Govn't give them everything, give them the tools to have the same chance in life.

Not certain "we" should have a right to this information, but was glad to see how much the Obama's gave to charity and somehow comforted that they too, suffered losses on their investments last year. All investors did, to differing degrees. The book income was well earned.
Regardless of your politic, those are excellent reads. Nice to see a successful man and woman (in her own right) in the White House. That's my take.

I thought it interesting to see that their Preparer Firm listed their occupation as US PRESIDENT & US FIRST LADY even tho THAT DIDN'T apply in 2008!

All I would need to pay of my debt is $150.000.00 to get out of dept and
be able to keep our house and car but here we are about to lose it all because my spouse got laid off there job and can' t get unenployment because the lines on the phones are so busy mean we are working and going to lose everything. Happy Tax day Obama Glad to here you pay them.

Everyone is acting like it is a big deal that they filed their income taxes.So did million of other Americans. My question, How many of his cabinet filed their income taxs. How many of our other goverment officals did not file their tax returns. I think every American need to be able to find out if their elected offical filed or not-- and if they had to pay did they!!

He needs to pay 100% of what he "made" last year. Let's see, how did he actually "earn" his money? He spent all of 2 days in the Senate. The rest of the time, he spent lieing about his agenda until his fateful day when he forgot the teleprompter and actually answered a question about "spreading the wealth". If he wants to spread the wealth, give it all back. He needs nothing since we are paying for him to live in the whitehouse and is robing us blind with his budget, tax plan and his famous transparency on the 9000 earmarks in the stimulus plan.

lets see, the republicans give tax breaks to the rich, the democrats give them our money, the liberal want to destroy the American way of life, and all we can do is fight about which parties better. lets focus on the needs of the American people and rally together to let them Know we have had enough!
