We did our best to look away. After the run-in with the chupacabra and the smackdown over Bigfoot, we didn't think we could go nose to snout with another monstrous creature. But the goblin shark wouldn't leave us alone.

Of course, this mind-boggling beastie is actually real. Making its home far below the ocean's surface, the goblin shark trawls for fish, octopus, and crab. Rarely seen, the animal almost never interacts with humans. So what gives it that terrifying moniker?

Let's put it this way—at best, the goblin shark has a manly face. Its Pinocchio-style nose extends far out from its mug and its sinister grin flashes "25 crooked needlelike teeth." Its physique is nothing better than "flabby." Once it locks in on prey, it "suddenly protrudes its jaws, while using a tongue-like muscle to suck the victim into its sharp front teeth." More than one source compares the shark to the otherworldly stars from "Aliens."

Despite its demeanor—or because of it—the creature has entranced the Web. On Thursday, queries for the fishie surged 5,066% to land in our top five movers for the day. Today, demand for "goblin shark pictures" rose 280%, gliding smoothly into our top 100 movers. Interest in the animal's body, its natural state, and any and all video clips continues to ride high.

Fortunately, Buzz has the raw footage answer. Two recent articles point the way to rare clips featuring the shark. Go ahead, check them out. They won't bite.
