No matter who gets the democratic nomination, he or she will be hard-pressed to pick a vice president as ruthless as John McCain's choice.

In case you missed it, Senator McCain has chosen Dwight Schrute, the fictional character from NBC's "The Office," to join him on his quest for the White House. Makes sense to us. Mr. Schrute has years of experience as assistant to the regional manager for Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch. Could the job of veep be that much different?

The announcement was made on the Daily Show, and was, of course, intended to be just a joke. Still, we were surprised this related story from USA Today didn't garner more clicks.
