In the most popular articles in Buzz this week, a daytime TV host took it "to an extreme," music fans suffered the sudden and tragic loss of a beloved entertainer, and one of tennis' greatest American players announced his engagement to a swimwear model. Read on for more...

Elisabeth Hasselbeck goes to an extreme
What do Barack Obama's ex-pastor Jeremiah Wright, Jeffrey Dahmer, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have in common? Perhaps only Elisabeth Hasselbeck knows for sure. "The View" co-host set viewers' heads spinning when she compared the fiery Chicago pastor to the serial killer and the iconic lunchtime meal. Even the perky prattler knew it was an odd thing to say. "I'm going to an extreme now," she warned her cohorts at the table. Regardless, Buzz readers lapped it up. A video clip of the tongue-teasing moment, which was hosted on "Condensed Soup" on Yahoo! TV, soared to the top of the week's most voted-on articles.

    Rest in peace, Sean Levert
On Monday, music fans learned of the death of singer Sean Levert. The R&B crooner fell ill in jail, where he was beginning a sentence for failure to pay child support. He was rushed to a hospital, and died shortly thereafter. Buzz readers and searchers mourned his loss intensely. A Yahoo! News article about his death gained hundreds of votes, moving it to the top of the Overall section. In Search, queries for "sean levert" rose nearly 90,000%, making his name the fastest moving search on Yahoo! this week. Demand for his father, Eddie, and his brother, Gerald, who died in 2006, also surged.

    Congratulations, Andy and Brooklyn
Tennis great Andy Roddick and Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker announced their engagement this week. News of the intended nuptials quickly scored the #3 slot among the most popular articles for the past seven days. Racket and beachwear aficionados lobbed queries for "brooklyn decker" over the Search net. The previously little-known beauty spiked 29,139% in lookups. Match: love.

Other articles spiking in Buzz this week
—If you print "everything under the sun," toss out a perfectly workable iPod just for a spiffier version, and never shut your computer down, watch out. You're in for the ire of Good Clean Tech's Erik Rhey. The green blogger issued a furious list of eco-bugaboos this week, and raked in the Buzz votes.

—Naomi, angry? Never! Fashion supermodel and occasional supermonster Naomi Campbell was thrown off a plane on Thursday for, gasp, bad behavior. Thankfully, OMG! was on the beat.

—We can all breathe a big sigh of relief. The Wii shortage may be coming to an end. Last Saturday, The Dallas Morning News released the sunny news that the console scarcity may soon be over. (Never mind that the weak U.S. dollar may be the reason.) Relieved gamers drove the article upwards in Buzz.
