Can't Catch a Spring Break...

We've had an exhausting winter—weather-wise, politically speaking, and economically concerned. People have been ready for a “spring break,” and that search has fast been reaching climbing into the top 1,500 terms in the past 30 days.
The wilder parties may belong to the bikinied college crowd, but everyone 13 on up looks forward to a week off. While women as a rule tend to do more of the online travel planning, spring break is one occasion where guys have a definitive lead: Three-quarters of the online “spring break” queries hail from guys.
As for which state looks forward the most to "spring break," that honor belongs to… Utah. Yes, the Beehive State, followed by Minnesota, Arizona, Kentucky, and Kansas. Actually, pretty much every single state in the union has been looking for time off, so the better question is, which three states haven’t been swept up by spring break fever? Answer: Delaware, Rhode Island, and Hawaii. Hawaii we understand...
But, sadly, "spring break" searches are down 50% of what they were last year. What happened? According to one survey, nearly half of families have cut down or nixed getaway plans altogether. Even the hardcore spring-breakers—the college kids—have scaled back: South Padre Island, a favorite destination for degree-seekers, has seen less student traffic over the years.
So, for those who won't be enjoying a moment in the sun, live vicariously through this list of top 10 "spring break" lookups.
