A question: When will folks learn that provocative poses plus digital cameras multiplied by the power of the Internet equals a complete and total disaster? No time soon, apparently.

Searches on Carmen Kontur-Gronquist, esteemed mayor of Arlington, Oregon, recently surged into the tens of thousands. Unfortunately, her rising popularity isn't due to any landmark legislation, but rather thanks to some sexy pictures on her MySpace page. Queries on "carmen kontur-gronquist photos" and "carmen kontur-gronquist mayor" both surged as the public exercised their right to gawk.

Madam mayor isn't the only woman in hot water for inappropriate behavior. Alycia Lane, until recently a famous Philadelphia news anchor, was fired due to the scandal that arose from her allegedly striking a police officer. Interest in Lane, who once sent bikini-clad photos of herself to ESPN anchor Rich Eisen, surged 1521%.

Finally, there's the bizarre case of Kumari Fulbright. The former beauty queen didn't take any pictures of herself in the altogether, but she has been charged with kidnapping a former boyfriend. Interest in the troubled law student jumped 1725% and related queries on "kumari fulbright photos" and "kumari fulbright mugshot" also posted huge gains.
