Find What You're Looking For?
by Molly McCallDec 4, 2007
You've lost a friend, forgotten a phone number, or mislaid the zip code for your great auntie's house. In situations like these, don't fret. The helpful little word "find" is there for you.
Everyday, massive numbers of people pound "find" into the Search box. The queries shift according to the season—buzz for "find a wii," "find holiday bargains," and "find bargain prices" is currently surging. But overall, the list remains remarkably steady. Searchers want to reconnect with old buddies, locate a better paying job, and nail that phone number, once and for all.
Take a dial through this week's top "find" demands and see what you stumble across...
A few notes...
—Physician, reveal thyself. Searches seeking dentists, dermatologists, and doctors all crack the top 20.
—FAFSA, huh? The search at #4 is looking for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Sorry, kids! The winter deadline is almost here.
—All this practical stuff aside, the "find" searches that move us the most are the ones with the lofty goals: "find your soulmate," "find your dream," and—our favorite—"find cheap flights." Aw. Good luck with that.
