It's been a hard couple of weeks for Amy Winehouse. Her husband's in jail on assault charges. Her fans booed during the first concert of her British tour. Her tour manager quit, saying she smoked so much heroin that it ended up in his blood. And the head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime blamed her for glamorizing drugs.
Does the string of bad luck mean a similarly negative streak in "amy winehouse" searches? No, no, no. In the past week, queries have skyrocketed on "amy winehouse tattoos" (+758%) and "amy winehouse pics" (+602%), with over a third of the lookups coming from men between the ages of 35 and 54. Other popular searches on the troubled soul singer include: "amy winehouse lyrics," "amy winehouse back to black," "amy winehouse booed," "amy winehouse husband," and "amy winehouse video."
Will the recent U.S. release of her 2003 debut album, "Frank," turn the tide for the beehived artist? Only time, and Search, will tell.
