Not everyone rushes to the closest costume shop to get gussied up for Halloween. Quite a few creative folks turn the holiday into a celebration of the DIY ethic and make their own outfits. This week we've seen search spikes on "how to make a toga," "costume patterns," and "homemade costumes."
We're tickled that some folks are honoring the spirit of Bluto Blutarsky with a toga of their very own. But what other home-brewed costume concoctions are crafty searchers cooking up? We unbuttoned the Buzz data to find the 20 most popular DIY costume searches...
A couple more costume notes...
—Be prepared for an onslaught of costumed animals this October. The top four DIY searches were about precious pets.
—As we get closer to the 31st, we expect to see pattern searches fall off. There isn't enough time to stitch together a complicated costume. No worries, though. You can always reference #17 on our list and give the tried-and-true ghost a try.
