Something for Nothing: Freecycling Takes Off
by Jill RobinsonAug 9, 2007
It's hard to turn down something that's free. The problem is that it's also difficult to find something we really want for free. Folks are getting better at cleaning out their closets and giving belongings to the needy, or filling the recycle bin with empty beverage containers, but what about getting things gratis?
Searchers have been dialing into the "freecycle" (+48%) community this past month, sparking queries for "freecycler," "freecycle.org," "freecycle groups recycling," and "freecycle com local group." Lookups on "freecycle groups" (+244%) appeal to those focusing locally in Virginia, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Arkansas.
For fans of the secondhand, antique, vintage, or just "on the house," it's the perfect reason for emptying out your garage and getting things you actually need for a change. Searchers know that it's never too late for a little spring cleaning.
