Hip-Hop Takes Another Hit

The New York Daily News calls her a "hip-hop hothead." Indeed, Remy Ma happens to be a young woman with a rap sheet longer than her list of rap hits. But the question remains: did Remy Ma shoot her homegirl over a stack of benjamins?
Searchers sought answers to this mystery of attempted murder in New York's Meatpacking District—queries for "remy ma" (+469%), "remy ma pictures" (+871%), "remy ma shooting" (+90%) all took high-caliber positions in the Buzz after the Grammy-nominated MC surrendered to the NYPD late Saturday. She stands accused of shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph, a 23-year-old friend from her Bronx neighborhood. Luckily, the victim is reported to be in stable condition.
When we hear about rappers or athletes having trouble with the law, we rarely register surprise anymore. Accounts vary about what may have happened between Remy Ma and her friend, but there's no disputing that this latest rapper's run-in with the law can't be healthy for hip-hop.
