Over the course of 400 episodes, the Simpsons have done anything and everything to keep viewers entertained. Now, Homer and company are putting out a movie. Will fans pay to see something they're used to seeing on TV for free? Time will tell, but the lackluster searches suggest the Simpsons, Barney, Moe, Lenny, Carl, Grandpa, Itchy, Scratchy, Apu, and Mr. Burns have their work cut out for them.
Searches on "simpsons movie" rank somewhere in our top 12,000 terms. Alas, like Homer's Grammy win for "best barbershop album," this is nothing to be proud of. Also distressing are the lack of queries on "simpsons movie spoilers." Only a few folks are seeking sneak peaks at the plot. Considering the movie opens next month, anticipation should be running much higher.
Fortunately, there's still time for the residents of Springfield to turn it around. After all, if they can survive the monorail debacle, we're sure they can come together and put out a good flick.
