We weren't surprised by the contestants cut by "American Idol" viewers. The not-so-fantastic four of Rudy, Nicole, Paul, and Amy failed to wow the judges and weren't a hit with searchers either. None of them made a dent in the Buzz and their mediocre vocal stylings made them early cannon fodder for Fox's juggernaut.
With an even 20 contestants left in the hunt, there's no time like the present to rank them according to Search. Here's how the aspiring stars stack up...
Five quick-hit thoughts on the performers and the aftermath of Idol's first true week of competition...
–Despite her brutal performance on Wednesday, Antonella leads the way. Why? Curious searchers are busy looking for naughty pics of the 20-year-old circulating on the Web. Will her good looks and burgeoning buzz keep her around for another week?
–Blake's well-received performance of "Somewhere Only We Know" elevated him into the #2 spot. He also sparked interest in Keane (+81%) and lyrics to the dream-tastic tune.
–Although Stephanie wowed the judges with her energetic opening performance on Ladies' night, searchers haven't warmed to her yet. Her appearance in the bottom spot doesn't bode well for her long-term future
–Same goes for the forgettable duo of Nick and Brandon. Judging by buzz, both dudes need to step it up next week to avoid the axe.
–For all the talk about how the chicks ruled, the guys dominate the top half of the list, placing in 7 out of the top 10 spots.
How does your favorite rank? Do you disagree? As Ryan Seacrest reminds us, you only have yourself to blame. If you search on them, the Buzz will come.
