Saddam's Final Footage

The execution of Saddam Hussein happened so rapidly, security personnel didn't have a chance to double-check for recording devices. Then again, according to some sources, the national security advisor was named as one of two government officials who documented the former Iraqi's leaders last moments with his cell phone camera.
Now the Iraqi government has declared a probe into how Hussein's last moments became a grisly viral video. The audible taunts in the grainy clip spurred controversy over alleged sectarian mistreatment. The imagery in the video has spurred an ethical controversy—taken up even by film critics—over whether watching the leaked images is equivalent to participating in a cyber lynch mob.
Bloodlust or justice, the demand to see photos, pictures, images and evidence of Saddam's death has been swamping the Buzz. We've seen about 40% more queries refer to Saddam's end by its means ("hanging") rather than the less graphic "execution."
Searches on "cell phone video of saddam hanging" have outstripped queries for traditional outlets such as "cnn saddam" or "aljazeera new saddam hanging video." Other searchers weren't as discerning, as long as they could find the "full video saddam execution" or "hanging of saddam hussein video."
Macabre as it may be, the need to be an eyewitness is most evident in queries such as "unedited saddam hanging," "live download saddam hanging" and "watch saddam hang." Ironically, the chaotic (and recorded) end to his life has made Hussein one of the most searched world leaders in recent memory.
