The Sun Shines on the Saints
by Jill RobinsonSep 24, 2006
There was a time when New Orleans residents would refer to their NFL team as "the Aints." But now that the Saints are 2-0, the Louisiana Superdome is reopening, and season tickets have sold out for the first time ever, fans are singing a different tune.
On Monday night, the black and gold team will play in their home stadium once again—the first time since Hurricane Katrina peeled away parts of its roof. ESPN's Monday Night Football will feature the standoff between the Saints and rival Atlanta Falcons (also 2-0) and offensive stars Reggie Bush and Michael Vick. Both U2 and Green Day will play at a pregame concert. "Super Bowl-like" is how media and NFL execs describe the event.
Even though we already have a favorite, we wanted to see how the matchups score in buzz: from cities to teams to players to bands. From the looks of things, searchers may just tune in for the pregame concert...
