We can't let a 264% spike on Tom Waits searches go unheralded, particularly when related terms point to such tantalizing news: "tom waits tickets" and "tom waits tour." Yes, you read that correctly, Tom Waits, the gravelly-voiced, iconoclastic singer—for some an acquired taste and for others a beloved legend—is going on a rare tour. (A brief tour, but devoted Waits fans will take what they can get.)
While we're speaking in reverent tones, let's mention searches on another enigmatic figure from the tower of song—Leonard Cohen. He's not on tour, but the buzz-worthy new film "Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man" features interviews, a performance from U2, and highlights from a Cohen tribute concert featuring the likes of Nick Cave, Beth Orton, and Rufus Wainwright.
Wainwright's recording of a Leonard Cohen classic regularly inspires searches on "rufus wainwright hallelujah," but earlier this summer Wainwright sparked wild buzz (at one point up 1,047%) when he audaciously covered an entire Judy Garland concert at Carnegie Hall. Rufus Wainwright Hallelujah, indeed! Now if we could only convince the elusive Mr. Cave to head back over to the States...
