Perhaps they were testing the propane in the tank or just emptying bags of last year's briquettes, but searches on "barbecue" jumped over 1,000% this past weekend.

Queries on the traditional bastion of male cookery show signs of growing female influence—a full one-third of barbecue queries come from women. Related terms, such as "bbq recipes," "barbecue grills," "bbq," and "gas grills" also sizzled in Search.
