You men keep referring to the young woman as being "unstable", but what about him? He choose to have an illicit affair with a person a few years older than his eldest son! She was a mere teenager when he enticed her
into his web of lies and deception. Obviously he had absolutley no intention of marrying her, but merely to use her as I am sure countless other young women. He got what he deserved, she didn't. What kind of example is he for his sons and other young males. What is so "stable" about a man cheating on his wife (and family)? He got caught in his own trap and he will be judged, stone or no stone.

You reap what you sow.
This is another example of the untouchable sports figure being glorified in death. Save your tears for a soilder that is lost in a useless war.
This guy stole the life of a young lady and from all acounts was already of his way to his next young girl. Sometime in this jungle of life the prey will turn and fight. This crazy mixed up girl felt all was lost and nothing to live for and the person that could help her the most care so little as to lay sleeping in a chair. It's all bad here . no winners. The Super Bowl Of Life was lost by not a yard but measured in years and years. pray for the families left behind.
You Reap what you Sow

My sympathies are with the wife and kids, who must feel like they've been hit by Mack trucks. This guy must have been at the top of the line when it comes to "absolute stupidity" to give up everything he had ever aquired, worked for, and celebrated, in his short 36yr. life. At what point would he have said, "ok, I have it all", probably never. This is the audacity of one man, who in essence really did die for a piece of a$$, his family deserved better.

I agree that you reap what you sow but no one deserves to have their own life taken by someone else. What he did wasn't right but people make mistakes, does that mean you deserve to be shot in your sleep...uh I don't think so!

People keep saying he was such a good person, did so much charity work, was such a great competitor, put his teammates first, and so on. But you can't be a "good person" and be cheating on your wife and kids. I'm not pointing a finger, because a lot of people get caught up in garbage like this. But let's not forget who the victims are.. his widow and his 4 now-fatherless kids. They suffer because of decisions he made. The wrong decision wasn't "having unstable people in his life" like that one fan was quoted as saying. the bad decision was having one or more mistresses. If you can't be faithful to the one you made a vow to be faithful to until death do you part... well let's just say, you can't be a "good person." Was he so charitable and involved in the community as an act of penance? Makes you wonder.

I found the quote "this is why we should all carry guns" to be ludicrous. First off, he was asleep, so the gun he may have had wouldn't have mattered. Second, point out that this is what can happen when you live your life as a lie. Trying to show on the outside how "good" you are, but meanwhile being caught up in lie after lie, cheating on your family and so on. Just make proper decisions.

McNair might have been a great athlete, but not a great man. He was cheating on his wife, was mind-f**cking a 20 year old for sex, spending money on her he should have been spending on his kids. What kind of example does he set for the young men who looked up to him? Another athlete with big bucks who couldn't handle the responsibility that came with it. It's easy for a 36 yr old to manipulate a 20 yr old. Why didn't he have an affair with someone his own age? Because he couldn't find someone who would buy into his line so s**t. Being an athlete doesn't make you a man, doing the right things, makes you a man.

Lesson to be learned, specially when you are married and have kids, is DON'T CHEAT! otherwise things like this happen. Plus, if you cheat with a young bimbo, it is more likely to happen.

The elephant this story discusses Steve CHOSE to do. Sure he ran into one complete nutjob but he did choose to do this and accepted that running into these nutjobs is part of the game he chose to play. With every choice comes consequences. The sad thing was that he wasn't thinking of his wife and especially his kids when he chose to do this. The kids are truly the only victims here. Hopefully they will overcome this tragedy and be better for it.

When I play with fire...I get burned...those are the rules...we didn't make the rules...it's a universal truth...roll the dice folks, it's your life to gamble or not gamble. The man played that game and he lost...the sad part here...his kids deserved better! When we have children, we're not just playing with our own life...we're playing with the lives of innocent children..and that is a tragedy for them.

You know, McNair lived by the sword and died by the sword. If he didn't cheat on his wife I am pretty sure he would be alive today and none of us would be here.

It is my opinion that it would be a good thing for this to happen to MORE pro players and players of sports.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me what is wrong with black women? Why do the black guy's always go after the white women? Have the white women become the dogs of the world or does a black man just feel safe with a white woman?

If McNair could here me right now I would say:

McNair you are a fool. You had everything and the things in life that most people only dream of. You are the scum of the earth. You are a trator to yourself, your mother father, WIFE, friends, co-workers and last your fans. It is my greatest hope that many more like you are killed off just as you have been. Burn in hell forever and ever trator.

Ahhh..... I feel better.

This is why we need to stay under God's umbrella of protection. You get out from under that umbrella i.e. in places you know you're not supposed to be, doing things you know you're not supposed to do and WHAMO .... satan strikes you down. Stay full of God and you won't give in to the lusts of the flesh. It's a daily battle but you can win with God on your side!!

Kinda wonder how many posters on Buzz that scream "he got what he deserved" about McNair... were also posting on the Michael Jackson threads that "he was a great humanitarian and you need to get beyond all those little pedophilia incidents and remember the good things only"!

Yeah Yeah, I know... McNair was screwing around on his 4 boys. On the other hand, Michael was... oh, never mind!

Oh, the irony. He is cheating on his innocent wife and his mistress and he are dead, so the wife inherits all his money. Too bad anybody died, but it makes the wife's life a lot easier than dealing with him and divorce or continuted fooling around. I feel good for her.

As most of you have already conveyed, I am not condoning his cheating. But he should have left her in jail........that probably would not have only saved his life but allowed him end this relationship.

I don't condone cheating on one's spouse. But it also should not be that thing that 'defines' a person. No one knows what went on in that relationship or in his marriage and it's none of our business to speculate like this. What happened to Steve was tragic. But you can't throw out all of the good things this man accomplished simply because he was having trouble in his marriage. Infidelity, sadly, is very common in marriage. So common, in fact, that it is absurd to judge a human being by this isolated act. Come on people, have you all lost the capacity for forgiveness and understanding?

Steve McNair was a great man. He was likely driven into the arms of this woman by the nagging of his wife. As a man with a condescending nitpicking wife I can relate to his struggles. RIP Steve, you still da man.

Risky choices bear risky consequenses, Thinking with "One Eye" is a "nobrainer". It doesn't matter if you're a millionaire athlete or any other raging libido that feels "entitled" . Learn it fast and learn it young --- real men are in control.

Yeah just another individual kids should look up to because he could throw a football. Forget the fact he was a morally challenged reprobate, Perhaps we should canonize him like the King of Pop freak!

When we come inthis world by our selfs and we die by without any one going with us. Relationships are all we have. This young lady went with a married man and when she saw that she could not get what she wanted then she kills him and herself. She was going to kill herself she just saw an opportunity to take him too. So said I would not date a married man and that should have been her motto to.
