Armstrong reaches crossroads

Lets remember that Lance Armstrong is not necessarily doing this for his 8th Tour victory, he's doing this for cancer research. I betting he obtains the yellow jersey from Stage 7 but then gifts it to Contador by the end of the race presuming Contador keeps pace.

I believe it is more about showing the world he was not doping, he is the most scrutinized rider in the race, and if they cannot dig up anything on him, they will be forced to eat their words. When he retired last time, the organizers of the race launched an attack on him and many jumped on the bandwagon. Just being tied with the lead after being out for 4 years is incredible on its own merits. He does not have to win the race to win the public support and respect he deserves.
