Demjanjuk faces 27,900 accessory to murder counts (AP)

AP - The legal saga of John Demjanjuk neared its final chapter as prosecutors set the stage for one of Germany's highest-profile war crime trials in years — formally charging the retired U.S. auto worker Monday with involvement in the murder of 27,900 people at a Nazi death camp. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

Why can't they just dropped this whole thing. They want to hurry with the prosecution on a 89 year old person who was found not guilty by the court in Isreal who were the main one being killed in the camps. I don't see the US prosecuting the japanese cammanders for how they treated our P.O.W. in WWII. He doesn't have much longer to live and when he passes on God will judge him on what he's done.

Has he killed anyone since? Look at that! A perfect example of rehabilitation. Leave the guy alone. He isn't the same person he was back then. At this point it's just a matter of dirty revenge.

I think anyone who says that murderers or terrorists etc. are off the hook if they hide long enough is a fool, but with this guy, wasn't he prosecuted before in Israel or something? I am sure they had all the same evidence then, and more witnesses. Unless out gov't held out on evidence, which then should be looked into.

The Germans who cause the Holocaust are trying to escape their own guilty involvement by incriminating anybody from any country who they occupied during the second world war...They were the true murderers but remain free and guiltless like nothing happen...The Israel supreme court freed this man of the so called crimes but the mistake they made was not to charge the whole bloody country of Germany of the dreadful Holocaust in Absentia... Facts are facts ...and fantasties remain fantasties... Vet and senior...

This is bogus. No one is saying the Holocaust isn't a horrific event in History, but this guy was nothing but a pawn of the Nazi's, a low ranking official, following orders, which, if he didn't, would have gotten himself put to death. Any of you would have done what you had to, too, if you knew you'd be killed for not following orders. This is nothing more than Germany trying to make their country look better by placing the blame on a scapegoat.

He should be brought to justice, BUT the Germans got HUGE balls to go after this guy. NO GERMAN, I say again, NO GERMAN is still doing prison time for World War II WAR CRIMES like they are trying to pin on this guy. NO ONE. They were ALL released, before the end of the '60's, but I'm not exactly sure when. It's b*******. I'm of German ancestry and they have brushed under the rug their own guilt.

I am so tired of this world going after others for war crimes while it lets two of the worse war crimes criminals go free. I say if the world is going to allow George W. Bush and Richard Cheney go free without even an investigation into the charge of war crimes then they should not go after anyone one else. I am a firm believer in Equal Justice under the Law.

Our friends in Deutschland and Israel would look a lot better to us in the rest of the world if they would drop this.

God will judge him.. But he spent years " hiding' in Ohio ( my home state , thank you very much)JUSTICE must be done.He lied.. he killed thousands, their lives and families did not continue on. They died unimaginable deaths.I don't care if he is 89 years old or not... he needs to take some sort of responsiblity for his actions. He may have been
"following orders". but he was AT the death camps.. HE KILLED CHILDREN.. he has to pay... PERIOD! God will be the ultimate judge, but as long as he continues to live he is subject to the laws of this land.We can forgive him.. as our Lord said to do.. HOWEVER he did not say forget!

The jews will not let anyone forget about the holocaust! I am so sick and tired of hearing about the holocaust for 60 years! What happened is history! You do not hear of the USA constantly talking about Pearl Harbor where thousands of US men were killed plus all of our men who died in war defending our country! We remember them on Memorial day one time a year! This man was proven innocent and he was a soldier following his orders! He was 18 years old at the time and valued his own life! If he refused an order he would have been shot!

Yeah leave the man alone if he already was aquited before and the man is practicaly through his life! What about the war crimes in the past the US did agianst the native americans and putting minorities into slavery? Oh yeah obama is president so i dotn want to hear about prejudice now! Atleast africa wasnt taken over by the usa and your land stolen and people treated like cattle and put on reservations. Let the past rest cuz im nto gonna be bullied over some tme some southern person ancestory did to yours. MIne is irish so i have my own issues with other counties! To me the only ones becoming the minorities now in the USA are cuasions and soon we may be trampled on more.

I don't know if this fella is guilty of anything or not. Whomever said "War is hell" said it for a good reason. EVERYBODY in a war does stuff they don't necessarily want to do because a higher authority told them to do it. IF he was a NAZI guard he simply followed orders, otherwise he would have been just as dead as those that gave him his orders and were hanged for it. To try a foot soldier for following orders sends the wrong message. And for those that are going to say he acted independently of his superiors....get a life....German SS soldiers were well trained drones.

Hey everybody..."looks like we got us a NAZI-SYMPATHIZER" here on y-buzz this morning!!!

"redreign20' thinks John Demjanjuk got a RAW DEAL!!!

"CAN YOU FRIGGIN BELIEVE THIS HOLOCAUST SUPPORTER???"

Read "redreign20's" post again...

Do you see how he tries to make a KILLER into a "sympathetic pawn?"

That's a "classic" NEO-NAZI/WHITE SUPREMIST tactic...

It's designed to make a "WEAK-MINDED" person become desensitized to the thought of HATING, then eventually commiting a VIOLENT ACT, in the name of WHITE SUPREMACY!

THAT'S HOW THEY DRAW YOU IN PEOPLE...

THAT'S HOW THEY "PUNK" YER' A$$"...

THAT'S HOW THEY GET YOU TO "KILL" FOR THEM...

Just put a "thumbs-down" next to my comment, and that'll tell EVERYONE that you agree with "redreign20"

And please don't use ME as a "lame excuse" for your HATRED...

I don't really know how I feel about this...there are two sides to every story. Obviously the holocaust happened and it was worse than awful, but the guy is 89 years old...and if he was 18 when he became a Nazi, like others said above, he would have been killed. I know the Nazis and the people of that time were completely brainwashed; However, the Jews and many others suffered and died in the death camps...and you can't help but wonder, where is their justice? This man was able to see 89 years of life that millions of people never got to see.

He's had his time on this earth, and as much as I would say just drop it, people need to pay for their crimes...

Or he could state an apology at least. Like some of the southern police officers who mistreated blacks apologized to the victims years later. It doesn't erase what happened, but it in some ways it should help.

Soloman Morel was charged with many more murders than this plus crimes against humanity but Israel refused to extradite him to Poland to face a war crimes tribunal. Considering this eternal double standard I think Demjanjuk should be set free.

So when is the IDF going to be facing a war crimes tribunal for the women and children they slaughtered in Gaza ? ? ?

Charges against Heroin Hal Daub for the rape of at least three women in Omaha, Nebraska, during the Vietnam War have yet to be filed.

Nor have charges against former Nazi from Germany Eleanor Krause of Omaha who poisoned and nearly killed five year old Trent Stewart of Omaha at age five with heroin and twelve year old Dave Friend of Omaha (now a retired police Captain). Nor has the two Omaha Police Division accomplices of Krause who also attempted the rape of five year old Trent and committed the rape of then fifteen year old Dr. Paul Krause of Omaha.

Google "Boycott Nebraska" and read about the serial rapist Republican. The USDOJ has been notified for years with a civil rights complaint filed recently. Yeet nothing has been done.

Does the Pentagon know? I'm sure they would be very interested.

27,900 counts. In the US he would get off with a loitering charge. BUT in Germany with their excellent efficiency he ain't long for this world. Irony? And Bruno is not the judge.....

Not much mention of how the immigration laws are too generous in allowing people like this in to the USA. Same goes for H1-B Visas, there are too many given out for BIG business.

Hell's Bells. This fellow was just a guard at a prison like so many of our soldiers are guards at a U.S. Military Prison. Just doing what they are trained and ordered to do. Was he directly responsible for all the deaths? I don't really think so. Seems like they are taking out their anger at the Nazi Regime on one old soldier that was just doing his duty. He hasn't much time left so let the Lord pass judgment on him.

"The effort to bring Demjanjuk to justice sends a very powerful message that the passage of time in no way diminishes the guilt of the perpetrator," Zuroff said."

Actually, I'm glad to hear the Zionists say this. It leaves hope that someday, even if its 50 or 60 years from now, there will be justice served on the soldiers responsible for the slaughter of innocent Palestinains

What is wrong with you people?? This guy is being put on trial for helping to kill 27,000 people!!! Private citizens!! NOT soldiers. Where is you sense of justice?? If you family had the experience of being some of the 27.000 you would not feel this way. Jews will never have equal justice. They will always just keep kicking everyone elses a$$ in every way possible while the world hates them at the same time.

Why is no one talking about punishing geriatric Bolsheviks, who have never been brought to justice for their murder of milllions of Russian Christians from 1918 through 1953....why are these communists never talked about, their names never divulged to the public? The public doesn't know who Lazar Kaganovich was, Stalin' s Luca Brasi...It probably has something to do with the ethnicity of the Bolesheviks...
