The govt including many civilians were so much for NAFTA and programs which allow imports into this country for free several years ago.... well now we are seeing the long reaching effects firsthand......
less gross domestic product, and more imports, without tariffs = money lost to overseas.... Govt included.... When fewer goods are produced, and fewer goods are sold, fewer tax dollars are available for the people in office which think they have a endless supply of money.

A hard lesson to be learned here. To the people affected. Meet with your accountant or tax preparer. Change your deductions, so that your withholding is neither too much or too little for your income. You don't want to pay at the end, but you don't want a refund, so they can do this to you in the end.
Government loves when you withhold too much. They make interest on it all year, but pay you nothing for the use of your money. Don't think of it as a savings account. Take the same money, and put it in your own savings account.
Bottom line. It's your money, and the scoundrels have spent it on wasteful programs. A lesson to never trust Government to do the right thing.
simple economic solutions. 1) Bring back the draft, war is inevitable whoever is in power, and it makes more sense for the young bucks to go than the 43 year old Husbands with families who get sent back for tour after tour. Afghanastan was decided before Obama won, so suck it up.This will keep national security in check and when the market rebounds jobs for the working and middle class. 2nd arrest and incarcerate illegal aliens,once each individual is proven to have committed identity fraud,banking fraud and employment fraud these federal felonies can bring revenue in the form of new jobs for Prison employees and so on ( deportation to follow sentence) Also employers who hire illegals can get their prison numbers next. Stop overpaying your taxes in the first place. If you have a job, adjust your withholding, if you're self-employed, pay less on your quarterly estimate. I hit the end of the year owing the feds about 500 and the State about 200. Then they wait until April 15 to get the rest of MY MONEY. People that live of a "refund" are morons. It's your money to start with, why the F*#$ did you give it to the government to hold on to.

Withholding should be ended. If everyone had to write a check on April 15th for the full amount there would be REAL CHANGE and FAST.
