I think they should play Beckham at Center Forward when he comes back to the Galaxy. Nothing like a few goals-scored in the news would ice his spot on the England team better. poorly written article but the point is made. Superstar Divas(is David one??) should play their rolls on the screen so they can watch their antics over and over. The ball field is for sports and the team work that comes with plaing in a game..not foe a singular person's benefit, but for the fans who pay the big bucks to see their TEAMS play.

Landon Donavon is a Punk. Anyone who has seen him play for any amount of time watches a whiner and a diver, a flop internationally and he not able to cut in in Germany 3 times. Once the money was guaranteed to Beckham in his contract, pretty much it was easy street for him whether he played hard or not. If I was the owner of the team I would pay out his contract, and get rid of Beckham. Get somebody to fill his shoes and give him one fourth of the contract amount as a down payment, and if that player showed after a number of games that he can do it, and proven himself, I would eventually give him full status and remaining amount in the contract, but unfortunately thats not how sports agents work. The sports agents are just as greedy as the wallstreet traders and the culture we live in. Dave Beckham represents an era of athletes where money is the motivating factor in how hard or how we all work, not the passion.

We used Bechkham and his name to sell tickets. At that time, he was still physically hurt. The MLS and its style of play allowed him to not only heal but showed just how far behind USA soccer is when a hurt, over the hill player can still play pretty good futbol here in the states....he would never of had that chance in the PL. He healed up and showed Europe he may still have something left in the old gas tank...at the USA' expense and her fans.....

I have been at Galaxy games and Beckham was not impressive. However, Donovan has been entertaining. Its a shame that Beckham's MLS numbers are not even close to Blanco's who is on the Chicago Fire. Although the Beckham experience paid off some dividends, his celebrity power has dwindled as he does very little on the field. If Beckham played like Blanco, Donovan would have nothing to complain about.

I was skeptical regarding Bechams talent but I watched him at Real Madrid and he made me a believer. The problem is that the MLS over-sold themselves to Becham as a high quality league in which to play. Becham was forced to go to Milan to maintain his skills - watching the galaxy with Becham just helped illustrate how tactically and skillwise poor they really are. You could see how disturbed and disappointed Becham was on the field but he was just too much the gentleman to come out and say it in public because it wouldn't have helped the MLS. Donovan just doesn't get it - that's why Bayern Munich sent him packing - that's why Freddy Adu was sent packing at Man United - ad nauseum,,,Maybe if they spent time earning a starting position on a team in the Brazileiro it might be different.
