Just what we need, more fat cops who can't run. They need an excersize program in the department and be made to keep a certain weight. There are others waiting to take your place fellas.

Support the community, support the police, help provide jobs ... just by starting the day with a cup of coffee and a doughnut? That would work for me.

This is a positive news story and I am glad that the police who put their lives on the line are doing something constructive. A concept that is lost on the Jesse Jackson and Michael Jackson types!.

I truly appreciate what Cops do. At the risk of appearing condescending, which I'm sure I will, a couple of thoughts come to mind. Observations only, and not related to the owners (it could be anyone) (1) I had Junior Achievement marketing classes that could have come up with more sizzling catch phases. (2) The days of dispensable income over. (3) The baby boomers with dispensable income are eating healthier. (4) There is a reason a 113 year old business closes. Usually not a good one. (5) Most new businesses fail in the first 3-5 years. The upside - free donuts! Best of luck.

It is a good idea, but Obama may shut them down because they are contributing to the fatness of our society. Hope the Government new King does not decide to end places like this to save us from our selves.

Quote "The officers were on hand for the grand reopening but have hired a manager and will employ local students as staff."

Is this not age discrimination? Employing students.
Is this illegal?

This story beats the crap out of glorifying a sick, twisted, pedophile like MJ. At least these cops care about their community and are doing something positive. Maybe it will fail, given the current economic conditions in Michigan, but at least they are trying to keep kids off the street by providing gainful employment.

and Michigan complains there aren't enough cops on the street. Well when they're allowed to own and operate a business while on duty and are more concerned about donuts than doing their job, its no wonder this state is trashed. How can our wonderful Governor allow this happen? Her campaign promise was to "blow us away". She has and is definitely doing that.
