Obama puts critics of financial overhaul on notice (AP)

AP - President Barack Obama said Saturday that current financial rules exploit consumers and he put critics of his proposed overhaul on notice: "While I'm not spoiling for a fight, I'm ready for one." » Full Story on Yahoo! News

What ever happened to "let the buyer beware"? That's right. I'm sorry. Liberalism happened. "We gotta protect people 'cause they're too stupid to do it themselves, and because we're so smart, we'll handle it instead. So we'll start big government bureacracies, and waste MILLIONS and MILLIONS and MILLIONS of tax dollars, attempting to protect all the people we think are too stupid to protect themselves. Yeah. That'll work". Not.

When you invest there is always risk unless your buying T-Bills or CD's. The more the government gets involved to "protect" consumers the lower your returns will be. So if you want the government taking risk out of investments you might as well buy CD's because taking risk out of investments will result in much lower returns than the past. Also this is a continuation of Obama controlling everything. Auto's, banks, insurance, and now Wall Street. That is a distrurbing trend.

We could do away with emergency services, take the warning labels off of everything, and let Nature take its course.

He wants companies to do things in an understandable, simple manner but not any of his own forced plans. The mess did not start on wall street...It started in Chicago with people getting houses they could not afford. Thanks Obama. He needs to do all of his plans in a hurry because people are learning what he is really about. That is why he is so affraid of FOX NEWS. He is the picture of socialism and wants simply to be the dictator of America. He needs to be impeached while there still is an America.

Lets vote on making sure those folks in D.C. are short term, they are killings us. Once we get them out of office, I say that we vote on cutting their pensions to one dollar a year, and make them do some real work for a living

I'm sorry Obama, but 99% of Americans are capable of making their own choices in life! We don't need politicians to tell us what is good and not good for us! That is the American way to have choices and the freedom to choose! I agree with Joe J. "Lets vote on making sure those folks in D.C. are short term, they are killings us. Once we get them out of office, I say that we vote on cutting their pensions to one dollar a year, and make them do some real work for a living."

Following any advice, or trying to figure out what this Fool in the White House is proposing , is like trying to dig a 6 foot hole with a teaspoon . His tenure will be long gone, and your spoon will be worn out.

The most heipful agenda would be one that simply educates Americans about finance and investments, unless you believe that basic matematics is too complicated for Americans to understand. It's not that dificult. Give the people the financial education and they can make their own decisions. Power grabbing is the absolute tone of this administration. It's as if only the elitists in Washington are capable of adding and subtracting or multiplying. Looking at the deficit, who are they to watch over our monetary decisions?

OK! I am a conservative who didn't vote for President Obama. I urge all conservatives to do what our liberal brothers and sisters never did for President Bush. Lets give credit when it is deserved. I support this inititive completely! I know some will say individuals should be responsible enough to read and understand something before they sign it but lets be real. I've seen many contracts they without sourcing an expert. I have found many hidden costs that were very difficult to understand. These contracts were intentionally written to obscure this facts. Designed by attorneys for that very purpose. As I say I can't support him on almost any other issue but this is the RIGHT thing to do.

We better hurry up and get this passed. The financial industry is in dire condition and if we don't pass this right away the whole world could get sucked into a black hole the size of a dollar bill. Don't worry about reading the bill just vote for it.
I bet these democrat clowns screw this one up as bad as they have everything else this year. I am all for a loan contract that you don't have to spend 3 hours in the office reading to ensure that they are not bending you over but I also don't want a weak bill with a bunch of loop holes that can be used against me. Where is the money coming from for this new consumer watch dog office? Are we going further into debt or are we raising taxes somewhere?

Would you like to see some Congressional hearings where the people in Congress are at the witness table and average American's sitting where congress usually sits. We could ask Barney Frank and Chris Dodd about thier roles in the banking crisis instead of them attacking and blaming bankers for the crisis when they are as guilty as the bankers for causing this mess.

Think back to the headlines this week: Obama say consumer protections essential--Health care reform is needed--Immigration reform is necessary--Obama wants men to be better fathers--blah, blah, blah. This nut case of a president is doing nothing more than attempting to micro-manage our lives and moves us full speed ahead into a nanny state. Next we will be told where to set our thermostats, what kind of car to buy, what kind of light bulbs to purchase, and what our chosen professions will be. How humiliating. We have an administration that thinks we are all of bunch of idiots and we need someone to tell us how to tie our shoes every morning.

Thank you to all the Obama suckers who elected him. They are willing to surrender their lives and individuals freeedoms to a bunch of subversive thugs from Chicago.

Let us see... First the revolution, Nov. 4, 2008, put them in control. Second they are taking over control of finance, manufacturing, food, medical and housing. Sounds a lot like Communism to me. Not Liberal Fascism or Marxism or "Early 20th Century Progressivism", quote: Hillary Clinton when describing her political slant. This is Liberal Socialism folks! And that's Communism. "A Rose by any other name...is still a rose.", quote: Shakespeare.

Hope you fools who voted for "change" like what your getting. It's what you wanted. Right? You should read The Communist Manifesto to get an idea what you voted for and what's to come. Enjoy.

Once again, the President and the Democrats cut off all debate on their proposals - even though they continue to extend their government takeover of businesses. They don't want any discussion of their ideas; they just want everyone to "Yes Massa" them and do what they say. What happened to Democracy? Strange that the party named for that concept is trying to kill it.

I don't need your protection Obumma. I don't spend what I can't pay for. The real Obumma is starting to show now. The anger begins to show. He has "NO PATIENCE" with those who wish to debate. We have never heard a president say such immature things. If he was king of his own country, wherever ever he came from, (who really knows) this is where people would start disappearing.

At the Correspondents' Dinner the president joked that he would give car companies to the media but would give AIG (the failed insurer) to Fox News. He shows that the liberal media are his marketing department and that Fox dares to critique and even criticize him. For this crime, they get punished. So much for free speech and transparency in government. Change you can believe in - believe that this will be our ruin.

This is the height of hypocrisy, for the unaware out there Obama, A.C.O.R.N, and Fannie along with Freddie, with the help of Barny, and Ried, and Pelosi CAUSED OUR FINANCIAL MELT DOWN. This President made his way to the White House on fraudulent votes that were cast in battle ground states thanks to the diligent efforts by A.C.O.R.N. And now he has taken the Census over and intends to use A.C.O.R.N and their PROVEN methods to assist with gathering the Census data to entrench himself and his party.

He is such an honest person, he cares so much about the American people, so when he wants to federalise everything under the guise of protecting everyone, lets all prostrate ourselves before him and his priesthood, lets all show our reverence to the D.N.C.

This is all just one persons opinion of course.

There is nothing good about a mortgage system that gives a fee to ACORN for every mortgage in the US.

Obama is the biggest threat to freedom since Stalin and Hitler. I will argue and fight every word he says. He should go f*** himself.

Where is the closure of ICE? Why didn't repeal the 15% tax rate funds? ....No, Wall Street is still going to increase the price of a gallon of gas by privately trading energy futures on an unregulated - legal - exchange, and the rich won't pay their share of the taxes.
