Thunderstorms delay space shuttle launch again (AP)

AP - Thunderstorms forced NASA to call off Sunday evening's launch of shuttle Endeavour, the fourth delay for the space station construction mission. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

Holy Cow! Looks like all of them are white. When is the last time this happened? Savor it folks, don't think you'll see this again. Must have been an oversight.

As much as they've had to 'repair' leaks and problems on the shuttles lately, NASA must be running out of duct tape!

I'd like to know where NASA is getting all this $$ from.

How about, we take their money, put it to better use (because God help us, we need it) and dismantle the whole damn thing. NASA is useless anyway. The allure of the space program from the 60s is gone. No one cares anymore, we've got bigger things to worry about than if there ever was life on mars.

we have to expand and get off this planet as soon as possible.
we are trying to evacuate earth as quickly as possible, before
she blows kabluey. the sun may supernovae in three or four months.
remain calm, no pushing, no shoving, get aboard, there is a smoking
section for those nervous in flight. its not a wild goose chase.
we're running out of raw materials, natural resources. 6 billion
people on earth have to be relocated as fast as we can. the earth
is almost becoming inhospitable. good luck. another step to the stars.

The shuttle is unsafe, the program has totally destroyed the US Space Program by sapping all the funds. NASA and USAF have no clue how to manage the USA's Space Program, better dig up Verner Von Braun, at least he could actually do something.

USAF service contracts to launch Satellites do not even meet the definitions of a "Launch" before payment is made.

A revolving door between USAF and the Defense Contractors, can you say they are, ":Greedy Corrupt No Good for Nothing Crap Holes". I forgot lying cheating vicodin eating pukes..............

KRAM, I would like to know where you got the idea the shuttle is unsafe? This is the 127 mission. Only 2 missions have ended in tragedy. One exploded on lift off due to a bad seal. One destroyed during reentry due to a hole in the wing. The space program is not a waste of money. A lot of things we use and depend on in our everyday lives can either be traced back to the space program or military program. The funding that NASA gets is just a drop in the bucket compared to the overall U.S. budget.

People calling for NASA to be shut down. How would that play on the economy? There are thousands of people working for NASA. Also, a lot of small company's working to provide materials and components that NASA needs. What about all of those people? Yea, lets shut them all down and put more people on the unemployment lines.

The Cape in Florida is plagued with weather problems, hurricanes, thunderstorms and plain old wind. They had the opportunity to launch out of Vandenberg in California, just a short hop away from the Edwards Air Force Base landing strip.

Maybe they should just cancel the Shuttle Program and save the money.

natives of earth, we are the People of universal central command.
your planet has been adjudicated a danger to itself and others.
your species is a terrible problem to the rest of the universe.
we are giving you about 100 years to change, or you will
be eliminated-poof!! the rest of the universe cannot tolerate
your sociopathic behavior much longer. our time travel
devices show you to be a menace to universal society in the future.
for our own survival and freedom, we have to take command of
your planet away from you. peace and safety.

If you want to know why a space program should be the collective endevor of the human race, remember that the earth has been hit before. And it will be again. The earth is too small a basket for us to keep all of our 'eggs' in. I think we should be colonizing the solar system and eventually near by star systems before THIS happens.

The space program is the only thing which the government does that has a monetary return. What would life be like without spaceflight? Pretend the year is 1492 and Chris does not get the money! What we need now is space exploitation – solar power, near earth asteroid resources and protection from and so on. The ISS is a step in this direction - a national lab with commercial experiments. Step two should be return to the moon to use resource there and flights to near Earth asteroids to use those resources for construction of a space based power grid for the U.S.

Dumb NASA....why do they schedule launches during the peak months for Florida t-storm & lightning ?? Poor judgement is probably costing major dollars for each scrubbed launch. You would think that somebody would step and say bad idea mr. launch commander to ever think about putting one into space during the summer. Money slipping through like sand in a leaky bucket.

I still cant understand why they use the space shuttle when they have more advanced means of travel. I guess they have to keep up the appearance of the Space Program as is.
