conveniently not finding the black box - pilot error, fortuitous event! Airbus is making perfect planes, Air France maintenance is 200%!!!!!

Did anyone ever think of re-desigining the unit called the Black-Box to make sure it's ejected from the aircraft on impact and is designed to float. How about using the color orange so the Black Box, now called the Orange Box, is easy to find. Yes, I know, we can't even design a car that's worth anything.

So we cant find black boxes on the ocean floor, miles deep, but they are giving off singals, and we can map the ocean floor. We can't do that, but expect to explore space? It's a fools errand! At least we have a long time before the sun burns out... Doubtful that we would even have relatives alive in that time period!!!

Time for a modern-based communication system, and away from devices that end up such as this.... technology is there, but costs are extreme. an alternative solution for black-boxes to float ??

If they wanted to make FDR's that would survive and be found they could have done so decades ago rather than just make them so they would stand a good chance of survival in a crash. They could have been made so that not surviving or not being found would be extremely rare.

Air France doesn't want to find the black box because they know they build inferior planes, and that would be brought to light if they found the box. When we people realize that the Airbus is not a safe plane to fly? When I fly and it's going to be an Airbus, I find another flight that has a Boeing plane.Airbus is a flying coffin!

The sub will find them in the next 2 weeks. Retrieving the boxes from the deep water is another story.

with all the satelites in orbit, youd think they could tell exactly where it went in the water,in fact if they dont have that system in place its time to make it happen...........

TOO BAD!
I guess we'll NEVER really know How the Jet went down and what caused the Crash. All we have now are Assumptions and we only know for SURE the Jet Crashed!

For some people screaming conspiracy: the US is envolved too, isn t it? Stop with the nonsense.
'U.S. Air Force Col. Willie Berges, the Brazil-based commander of American military forces supporting the effort, said one ship towing a U.S. Navy listening device had already stopped searching.'

How about an EPIRB on the black box. Why do they always seem to separate from the plane. Just attached a cell phone with GPS to them for a short term fix

The 'Black' boxes are no longer sending out signals, as the batteries in here are only good for a couple 2 or 3 weeks.

They can't find a 6 foot tall muslim on dialysis. And he's on land!! What the hell made them think they could find 2 black boxes in the ocean?

What is with all of the hostility? For the mathematically challenged, 30,000 feet of water is about 5.5 miles. When something falls in water its path tends to be affected by its shape and the currents in the water. Even if we knew the exact spot the jet hit the larger parts of the aircraft wouldn't be right there. As for the boxes, they aren't black, that is just what they are called. They are bright orange. When they are at the bottom of 5.5 miles of water color doesn't matter.
Still, one for the perfectionists, if the craft could send automated messages, it should be able to send a quick data stream of the information in the two boxes, IF the boxes were capable (they aren't) and if such a signal could stay reliable over that distance (it can't) and IF the French didn't have their heads so far up their six o'clock regarding the superiority of their aircraft not to think they need something better to record flight data on.

How about coming up with the technology where all the information being recorded on the black box are actually transmitted to a server in real time??

I know this plane trasmitted some info... But how about all the info??

Probably it is a cost issue.. I am sure the technology is there...

Then you dont have to search for the black boxes...

It is all about Money my friends. With all the high tech listening devices available from the US and French nuke submarine, they have pin pointed the black box but, will not pick it up just yet...

It will be the downfall of the manufacturer of Airbus Airpcraft, the costs of repairing, returning and/or rejecting all the existing orders will kill the company and the economy again. Stock market will tumble down.

I do believed they have it already...

I believe a UFO caused the crash and took the black boxes to cover up what really happened.

I'm surprised they didn't use subs in the first place since their sonar technology is far superior to a ships it's crazy.

its a shame they couldnt find it, they have assumptions to what happened and they have the readings that they got before the crash but we will really never know what happend to that plane. i just feel sorry for all the people who werent found and their families. i do agree they should update black boxes on planes to have some sort of way for it to float or something. this was just something that happened and such an odd way, kinda of ironic or something.
