Dog fighting should not be a crime. There are too many people who need rescuing to waste resources like this

I guess humanely euthanizing a dog that would have either bled to death or been drown for loosing can be called a rescue.

Those poor dogs....no creature should be forced to fight no matter what the situation....

Dog fighting is illegal in all states but still continues, like cockfighting. It reflects a disrespect for both humans and nonhumans that is prevalent in our country. Until we humans accept that we are animals too, just like dogs and chickens and cows and chimps, etc., etc., and learn the fundamental lesson that all of us animal species are in this together, this terrible violence toward dogs and other animals, including other humans, will continue.

This is the 21st century, not the 6th. Find a hobby that doesn't involve cruelty to another living being. Especially ones that are so trusting and so loving unconditionally.
Only bottom-feeders could get a charge out of watching animals tear one another to shreds and then murdering them for not "performing".

What disgusting people. I hope they round up more of them and throw the book at them. Maybe they could start confiscating properties to pay for the boarding, care and medical bills of these pitiful dogs. I personally would like to see them all put down and put out of there misery (the perps, too).

Maybe they should put all the offenders in a ring and let them fight to the death, just like the gladiators in Rome.

If your sick enough to watch a dogfight, regardless of age, sex, race, creed and any other reason you can think of, then you are no better than the people putting on the shows. Fine all of them heavily and imprison them for a year and see if there are any repeaters. If they do repeat, give them the needle.

Pitbulls are not the only breed that is fought here in the US. The Paterdale Terrier along with several other breeds are considered "game" and are used for fighting purposes. Look them up on the web and visit a few breeders websites and you'll see.

Since the beginning of time dogs have been put in the ring,It didn't start with M.VICK,and surely won,t STOP!!!!!!.And just think a little league
coach,and a nurse who see blood and gut all the time IMAGINE THAT!!!!!!...KING &QUEENS did it just for sport.....

How do you feel about the bull fights in Spain and Mexico? I've never been to one and wouldn't want to go. It's not just a culture thing, it's cruelty to animals, period.

I have a pit bull that was abandoned in my back yard. He is the sweetest natured most playful dog I have ever seen. You really have to torture and abuse the $hit of these dogs to get them to be that viscious. So if you don't think the fighting part isn't bad enough, just keep in mind the conditions that the dogs are put through just to get them to fight. It's horrible. Dogs aren't born that violent, they are made that violent.

What a sick way to be entertained & "make" money. I hope every one involved in this gets the full penalty of the law! If you need reminding of how terrible these dog fights are go to the ASPCA and download the videos. If you even remotely care about these dogs and the way they are treated speak out in their defense.

I believe the owners and watchers should be put in a ring and made to fight to the death with their fists and teeth. The winner will be electrocuted while being drowned.

This is just an awful story. AND...a little league coach, and a registered nurse, were involved.

Six others were also arrested in that raid including, a 55-year-old physical education teacher at a state school for the severely disabled.

These are people who are supposed to care about human beings, and the thought that these gross individuals are allowed to care for our kids, makes my blood run cold. If they treat poor helpless dogs like this, what does that say about how they care for people?

I say, put them all in a ring, and if they don't perform, then shoot THEM in the head, and put their bodies in a plastic bag and throw them away like the garbage they are.

Animal advocates get stronger every year, & are given more power to fight garbage like this. Sadly, more animals will surely die & be abused before this goes away. In other countries, especially 3rd world ones, this is a normal part of life. I'm glad it isn't that way here. Take this as fact or opinion, I don't care: If you are depraved enough to abuse an animal or even enable it, you are no better than someone who abuses or enables abuse of a human being. Period.

The easiest way to make some cash that they were too stupid to make in the first place, yes, that would be their bodies," no harm no foul", I guess you gotta be pretty and smart for that!

Dog fighting should not be a crime. If it is a crime to kill animals, then everyone would be forced into being vegetarians. Dogs are no different than other animals that people have no problem killing and eating.
