Blast outside school in Afghanistan kills 25 (Reuters)

Reuters - An explosion outside a school south of the Afghan capital on Thursday killed at least 25 people, including 15 students, officials said, and Taliban fighters overran a district near the Pakistan border after heavy fighting. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

Obama's "Rules of Engagement" are meant for defeat. Terrorist tactics call for hiding among civilians - that is according to the old communist insurgency manual. These rules should be reversed - kill the terrorists wherever they are - and blame them for civilian casualties. Otherwise prepare for defeat and abandonment of Afghanistan. One more thing - stop deliveries of arms and explosives to the terrorists; bomb the hell the suppliers wherever they are - Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Turkestan, Turkey, anywhere. And escalate! Ignore the protests of ACLU and other traitors; on the contrary, bring them to court for treason and kill them. That of course will not happen, so cut the losses and retreat home.

MarcJ - Based on the track record of Islam and its culture of violence and tribalism, that would mean about one billion dead terrorists with one percent collateral damage victims. That represents the number of followers of Islam who buy into the current Jihad against the West

This was supposed to magically stop once the messiah was in office. Maybe if Obama apologizes to the Taliban then they will magically stop killing everything they see. Of course, reasoning with animals is much easier than reasoning with the Taliban so they may not swoon the way American liberals and Europeans do at the sound of his voice.

The Taliban opposes the new Afghan govt and the US so they decide it would be in their strategic best interest to blow up a local school and kill students. Now I get it! The peaceful religion of Islam hard at work.

If only we could just set down and talk to the them. Koom bah lah,.. "We will have peace in our time. Heir Hitler has signed this paper promising us he is not interested in invading any countries...etc" Neville Chamberlain.
Murdering school children and teachers and the Libs want to "talk" to them. Then send Smith and Wesson to do the talking

You kids are still spewing hatred of Obama. Obama is doing nothing different than Bush. Heck, Obama and Bush went to the same school, listen to advisors that all went to that same school. Harvard and Yale.

Bush FAILED. He FAILED to get BinLadin.
Now Obama will FAIL in afghanistan because he FAILS to listen to anybody that isnt from Harvard.

Pull out of Afghanistan NOW. Let those weird-beard fanatics slaughter each other in peace.

No matter the outward appeareance, (a turned over truck in a stream)
A booby trap is a booby trap. It was not by chance but rather planned to detonate. a rather naive article writer, to say the least Reuters. The quality of news reporting sucks in this country. approx. 1/2 of this article is prewritten. as they all are about the Afghan, Iran and Iraq. Just sprinkle in the blanks with a few details and wait until tomorrow to do again. When is our journalism going to get back to work, and start printing NEWS especially on U.S. domestic issues. I would really like to see someone start asking some deeper questions of say Ms Pelosi and demand she explain herself. IE: News Media, Michael Jackson is DEAD now please get on with the events of the world, and let the Jackson family take care of Mr Jackson's business, not the news media as it has EVERY DAY, day in day out for the last two weeks.

The Christian Bible says that these people will never be able to be tamed or controlled. Looks like the Bible is correct again.

Doesn't that just irk you libs and non-believers that whatever the Bible says comes true? But you continue to say that there is no God and the Bible is a myth. The Bible is more current then your morning newspaper. Read it and learn.

Hey, they meant to blow up the school, the truck wasn't on it's way to anywhere else.. Terrorists kill children; remember that school in Russia where they killed over 300 small kids? That's terrorism, it's what they do! It borders on treason to continually try to diminish the effects terrorism has on a society. Propaganda designed to put a happy face of terrorists, like they have a conscience, that's what this story is.

Typical of RADICAL MUSLIMS. Attack a school. Seriously, is there any other people or religion that knowingly would attack the most innocent humans, children?

Gen. Nicholson - you are right on! The troop mix should be reversed - 4,00 Afgans assisted by 600 US Marines!! The Afgans need to get much more involved in the fight to defeat these terrorists (oooops! - "insurgents").

The Taliban (terrorists) purposely targeting a school, especially a school for girls, is a common practice. They are despicable and no one anywhere in the world should overlook this.

The Taliban thinks nothing of killing innocent children and teachers who DARE teach anything but radical Islam drivel.

Now then, will we see any type of protest for such an atrocity among the MODERATE muslims in any country? You know, condemnation by muslim clerics living freely, say, in Britain and France?

How about a peaceful demonstration by moderate muslims living freely in American cities such as Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Dearborn?

I cannot comprehend why the taliban have to plant bombs near schools. These radical/terorist/immoral son of bitches should be wiped out of this world.

I also can't understnd why a few guys hated Obama for trying to finish the job in Afghanistan where Bush have failed miserably.

I thses critics are good, I suggestt hat they give it a try to run for the higher office rather than just making bad comments.

So?
It's not like Americans were killed. They could line 15 students up and cut the head off of each one, put it on Youtube and we wouldn't care.

We made a choice in this country when we elected Obama to only care about other people as much as talking to insane dictators and terrorist will take us.

So stop making it a headline when 25 people that aren't Americans die in Afghanistan. War was evil when Bush was President but now it's all OK. When's the last time you heard the "total number of troops killed" number on CNN or MSNBC? Or the monthly figures? You don't.

This story illustrates why Canadians feel their effort is minimized by US media! It says that 20 deaths in last 6 days were mainly US and British - true perhaps, but those 20 included FOUR Canadians, and those three countries are ONLY ones to have suffered those 20 casualties! Canadians have proportionately suffered MORE casualties than ANY other country, US and UK included, because they are in Kandahar. They have suffered 125 deaths, no other country, other than US and UK, has lost even 40 in Afghan! I know most Americans are not aware of the disproportionate sacrifices made by Canadian armed forces, and this is why!
A little respect is called for, if Canada's continued presence and sacrifice is requested!

wastedyrs, your post is one of the most ignorant and dispicable posted! No wonder Americans are disliked, with comments like yours posted for all to see! 15 children died - is it really relevant that they were not Americans. The pain for their parents is just as great!

One thing that to me that needs to be done is let our military fight this the way they no how untie their hands. And don't say like VP. Biden " see we took the soldiers out of Iraq like we promised"
yes you did and then sent more troops to Afganistan. Say the whole truth, not half truths.

""anti-Islamic attack""

To bad their religion rules their lives and country...

Islam must go as the law of the land... it allows to many to kill in it's name.... right or wrong....

The state must control with the rule of law.... without religion...
