Germany celebrates memory of Berlin Wall falling (AP)

AP - With concerts and memorials on Monday, Germans will celebrate the day the Berlin Wall came crashing down 20 years ago. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

Onr of the most important events in modern history is the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was the symbol of new hope and freedom that energized the entire decade. I hope eveyone remembers the end of WWII militaristic thinking and letting go of all the psychic bondage at the fall of the wall. Those that endevour to oppress others, those that perpetuate ignorance and confusion, try to enslave the masses thru ideology, religion and politics, and create conflict and misunderstanding for gain and control.... they will not succeed! Freedom, Unity, Love and Truth will always live on and flourish.

Everybody celebrated the fall of the wall, except our Socialist leader Barack Hussein Obama, who would've loved to still see the Wall there because his mentor is Karl Marx. He didn't go to Berlin after being invited by PM Merkel because it was Reagan who did away with the
Soviet empire. This way he is pleasing his Leftist supporters here and abroad. And to think that we still have 3 more years of this Communist to put up with.....

It's very fitting that Obama didn't go to the celebration. He's doing everyting in his power to eliminate liberty in this country.

Lovely comment. My mother "got out" in 1950...many people here have no clue as to what it would be like to live under complete government control! They just see what will be given to them...but not at what price!

The Germans invited Obama to Germany to celebrate the fall of the wall, his answer, he's to busy, the citizens of Iran are asking Obama for support, just a word about freedom, his answer, he's not going to get involved. Because of Obamas desperate need
to be liked by leaders of other nations he won't speak on behalf of freedom. I have never seen a president that has the opposit belief in his country and what it stands for than this President

While I helped President Obama get elected, it has become very clear that he snubbed this celebration of freedom because he truly is too busy concocting ways to destroy our freedoms. He realizes that more and more Americans are waking up from his cool-aide buzz and so he is becoming more desperate as he realizes his time is limited. While he and the radicals that control him appear dedicated to our destruction, we need to join those putting pressure on our other elected officials so that they will listen to those who elected them. Let us join the freedom movement that has begun in Virginia and New Jersey!

Obama realizes that a wall built of concrete and stone to enslave people is way too obvious, so his goal is to enslave his subjects through taxation and regulation. But he will throw us a bone every now and then just to keep us all happy.

No mention of Ronald Reagan in this article is an outrage. If not for him that wall might still be standing! Typical of AP reporting!!!!!!

This Wall was built to keep people away from the rest of the world, to sperate, do show our differences.. Its good that this wall was taking down so now we can all be on. Alot of people didnt think it was right to get shot and killed if you went over this line because alot of good people believed strongly that we should all be one! Not some being slaves and some being free! No because God created us all equally and didnt want some of us to be slaves and some of us to be free, He wanted the best for all of us.. and this wall and slavery helped us not do that and be seprated and not free.. So its good this wall was taken down! SO WE CAN ALL EQUALLY BE FREE, TOGETHER, UNITY WITH LIBRITY!

Was Obama given credit by the AP yet? I know the fall of a communist nation has to have quite a sting for the mainstream press, so maybe tomorrow they can report something about Sarah Palin..that always peps them up. You know something EARTH SHATTERING like she spent Wasilla taxpayer money on lipstick in 2003 "according to Levi Johnston"..you know..hard hitting and objective reporting

I love Germany
And for you whiny conservatives, go shove a peice of the wall down your slimy little throats. You're supposed to be HAPPY, not WHINING to make the president look bad. Be HAPPY that the wall is down, and support the president, we all know he's much, much better than george hw bush and ronald reagan combined. ^^

i am happy that germans are happy, but what most most people are not aware of ,the fall gave the russian mafia easy acess to america and other countries, they are more violent than the cosa nostra! the heroin trade has not been so profitable since the french connection! the communist regime has been replaced by the european union, which is just as sinister, the politicans there are no different than our elected role models in washington.thet continue to become richer, and the middle class are suffering and the poor are losing jobs on a daily basis!

As a descendant of German grandparents, I almost died when I saw the name of my beloved "Beethoven" included in the same sentence as "Bon Jovi." What has the world come to?

I agree, many East Germans regret the fall of the wall. It let in the hungry capitalistic wolves from the West, which only made things worse for the average citizen. To start with, these wolves threw many East Germans out of their dwellings and onto the streets. If that was not enough, they bought up countless apartment buildings for a song and then proceeded to throw out the tenants by raising prices double or triple or even worse. East German socialism would have worked if it had not been for "closet-capitalists" like Erich Honecker and his money-hungry pack of idiots. I am old enough to have been there twice.

RONALD REAGAN!
Give him some credit. Even the most liberally biased of "news" agencies (like all of the mainstream ones here except for one) should be able to recognize Ronald Reagan's accomplishment here. How pathetic that they haven't.

Whether one is for or against the fall of the Berlin Wall, which has lead to the fall of communism, it is still one of the greatest and most important event in history of humankind during the 20th Century.
