There always telling us on how to live longer, what healthy foods to eat, what not to eat, how many glasses of water we should drink, how much wine is safe, blah, blah, blah, then a few yrs down the road they say they were wrong, case in point, eggs, chocalate, whole milk, coffee, wine, once considered bad now its healthy, make up your minds FDA scienctist, your confusing us !
This is all BS...remember the marathon runner Jim Fixx.
Fixx died at the age of 52 of a massive heart attack, after his daily run, on Route 15 in Hardwick, Vermont. The autopsy revealed that atherosclerosis had blocked one coronary artery 95%, a second 85%, and a third 50%.
The advice about saving money on food is sound enough. I'd also recommend shopping around for the best bargains. Don't buy food at grocery store X if grocery store Y has comparable products for less money :)
This is all good advice, and we need to take into consideration. We need the exercise and the natural foods ,less processed. We also need to remember Exercise availeth little, it is the Spiritual that keeps us healthy where it counts the most..
support your town....first!
People in America need to realize jus what got America in this shape…”cheap” yes so-call cheap items from a foreign land.
quote*Wal-Mart firmly believes in local procurement. We recognize that by purchasing quality products, we can generate more job opportunities, support local manufacturing and boost economic development. Over 95% of the merchandise in our stores in China is sourced locally. We have established partnerships with nearly 20,000 suppliers in China. *end quote!
Now! if there be 182 country’s making items for the world to buy and they have only 5% of the pie in China…duh! This company makes the nice people of China support their currency(yuan) by keeping it in their country working for the people there…. but with the “yuan” going up in value and the US dollar going down…all the foreign items that the American consumer buys thinking it is cheap has went up in price.
They need to put a sign on the scooters at the stores that they are for the use of people who are genuinely unable to shop without their aid. The fatasses using them because they are too lazy to walk, and then load the basket up with nothing but crap is ridiculous!!! What is the weight limit on those things? 600#'s???
With the advent of canned foods, an invention to get food to our soldiers in combat zones, we'd be better off moving to third world countries where they are still eatting food thats home grown.
I get bored at the gym anyway. Do chin ups, push ups, run up the stadium steps, bike, hike, play tag with the kids; that's better for me.
Prepackaged food is less expensive because it's fillers, less choice meats, and poor quality. Fresh fruits, lean meats, and whole grains (especially organic) are more expensive.
Other than that, this article is pretty good.
i miss living in a small town community because i could buy my veggies, eggs, and goats milk from from my neighbors for cheap and sometimes free if i help them grow/raise it now that i live in a city i don't know where to get my fresh foods:(
How about you grow you own food.? Gardening? You can always stay healthy and save your money at the same time.
I got tired of this as well which is why I joined www.gethealthywithdoug.com . i have lost 11 lbs in just about a month. it works and is a proven process!
The truth is that we should be getting organically grown food that isn't processed. Anything in stores has been sitting there a while and doesn't carry the amount of nutrients we really need. Toxicity and Deficiency. Those two are the causes to the worlds illnesses. Our soil lacks the nutrients/minerals it used to. And we eat a bunch of junk filled foods that our bodies can't handle. It's like putting coca cola in your gas gauge for your car when your car is screaming for gasoline.
I agree with MadMilker, support locally first. Bargains are out there too. If that idiot in office would stop selling pieces of the USA to China and then give away billions in aid.....that we end up paying for, this country would be able to recover. But several things help too.....take everything in moderation, try to relax & de-stress when you can, laughter helps......remember to support our troops, because freedom isn't free...and buy American whenever you can. I am not supporting th unions, because they are a large part of this problem (I quit a good paying union job)....try growing some vegetables yourself, and enjoy the life you've been given. You never know when it will end.
I think people just need to get out and enjoy nature more. When I was in the Philippines, my friend climbed a 200ft coconut tree to get me coconuts since I was hungry. He never had a gym membership, he's 16 and in 6th grade because when he was younger (since this is a third world country we're talking about) his mother didn't have money to send him to school so he lived in the mountains. He only goes to school now because a family took him in as a maid and paid for it. He has only one pair of shoes...well, if you consider flip flops shoes. My point being, I think people should appreciate what they have. People should appreciate nature more. Wear sun protection, but just taking a walk in a forest or going strawberry picking would be decent exercise compared to just gym membership. Don't depend on electricity so much, don't watch tv everday. I know plenty of people who have been able to be happy without that, including me back in the day.
