Wasn't this person reported to be a chief petty officer a few days ago? If that is still true then why is he still being reported as a 'soldier'? Soldiers are in the Army, petty officers are Navy personnel and are therefore 'sailors'.....they are never soldiers.

Once again, the media has no issues reporting on this and put this man's life in danger, yet they make pacts to keep a journalist's kidnapping a secret because they said they didn't want to endanger HIS life. I love how schools teach journalism ethics. Last I checked, journalists had no code of ethics in practice, and have made it quite clear they have no plan to have one. I didn't know that a drunk soldier could just wander around the post like that. I figured he would have been confronted by the guards, let alone leaving the base. I didn't know you were allowed to get sh!t faced drunk while on active duty!

This story has too many holes in it. It's pretty hard to get drunk over there. So not going to believe Taliban on that one. Could he have been lured off post with promises of wine women and song.... a distinct possibility.
