I hope the media didn't count me as one who watched the Jackson Memorial..... because I DID NOT WATCH this media frenzy.
The media was competing for awards by using the best chosen words to describe his death....Dead is Dead!

31mill. nielsen's reports is only some figures. Add it up, online had another 34 mill watching. What about the people who taped it? Like myself. Those aren't counted in nielsen's rating. Not to mention the 17,000 at the memorial and a couple thousands outside. And the millions and millions around the globe. And the places like Apollo celebrating. This tells me something about MJ being such a Icon in his day. This will go down in history. Like it or not. King of Pop. So, all you narcissistic, cold as Ice, negative people on yahoo buzz don't count.

Then that's 31.1 million people who haven't a clue what quality, character, and a true sense of morality really is. We have thousands of fallen hero's who sadly won't receive the recognition they truly deserve yet this country has so lost its sense of values that hopefully it will be forgiven for spending even a minute or $1.00 on recognizing an indicted child molestor who is going to have the biggest stage fright he ever had when he arrives at the pearly gates.

Clearly, this "show" demonstrates how hard up the network news program managers are to get ratings for their network.

His contributions to America were touted over and over. Music is an important part of daily life, it brings joy, sadness, and has even been credited with healing power. So yes, he made some contributions to America. But - his predisposition to be with underage children and in his bed, is wrong. He was a sick man. An even sicker one gave him custody of his children just because of "who" he was, a celebrity.

He had his 15 minutes, it's over - let's move on.

That merely means we have 31,100,000 + sicko's in the US.

That's Nielsen's ESTIMATE. I'd wager my left nut that it was far, far lower than that. After 2 weeks of solid blithering dumbphuckery about Jackson a vast majority of Americans couldn't have cared less.
They turned his death into the same freak show that was his life.
Good bye and good riddance, MJ!

Just found out that the city of LA taxpayers got stuck for 1.4 million dollars on police overtime for the funeral. Hope the family uses some of the money from the music sales to pay back the city.

It's nice to know so many millions of people are out of work and had nothing else to do. Does Obama know about all these people looking for jobs. Send him this story!

Probably because it was rammed down our throats! I did not watch - I left the house - then couldn't even get away from it in the car - ALL the d@mn stations had it on!

It was NOT our choice to see this garbage or hear it!!

Thou shalt have no god before me. Those 3.1 million people are entitled to their opinion of Michael the molester. We are in a big energy crisis (sarcasm) and think of all the energy wasted by the media for pounding this one into the ground. Just think of all the global warming from all the people spewing the green house gas to get to the funeral! And all that hot air let out by the great huckster Al thecrackhead Sharpton.

What was Calif. thinking to say yes to paying for security etc. for Jackson's memorial? Why can't his family pay for it? They're certainly not destitute. They're all wanting a free ride . And how about the "celebrities" that performed at this "show" (not memorial). Everyone one of them surely would have the money to donate, especially if they loved the guy like they all professed to.

I agree the Jackson Estate should pay for the security, especially after people were charged to get into the Staple Center, this was while the rest of us taxpaying public are being subjected to 24/7 coverage of the pathetic life of a child rapist.

I think the American public is sick of all this crap being thrown at us...and they will watch whatever is on at the moment. Doesn't Bama have a T.V. zhar to control what we watch?
