I think if the CIA is incapable of telling congress the truth and informing them in a timely manner of covert operations, then congress needs to cut the CIAs budget. The CIA cannot be allowed to make up it's own rules as it goes along. This is a democracy after all.
Who cares if Speaker Pelosi was informed? She didn't order or carry out the torture. Her breifings are classified which means even if they did tell her she could not have told anyone else.

I was watching the news last night. These Republicans are sick. They are sick and immoral. Depending on the sensitivity of the intelligence operation and the risk to the agents involved telling anthing to congress poses risk of a leak that could result in the death of the ops and loss of the intelligence collected. Until we have members that can keep their mouths shut I'd vote to keep them in the dark!

The Congressional Democrats and the Obama adminstration will go to any lengths to make the prior adminstration look bad. Putting our country's safety in harms way is no problem for Obama or his lapdog Panetta in this endeavor.
After all, why does this particular situation even need to be released to the press? If it's that secret, that serious, then perhaps it should be dealt with in a confidential manner. Instead, these whores grandstand it in the press as if they are our saviours.

This is politcal cover for pelosi, obvious to anyone except the brain dead. There are exceptions to the law that allow the CIA and the residing administration to not inform congress of certain activities. So not informing them isn't lying, it's just not informing them. Considering all the sensitive information that's been leaked from congress to the media (for political gain, regardless of the risks on us or our soldiers), we should seriously consider deep dive investigations into where those leaks come from. I still want to know if pelosi was informed about the gitmo policies or not. That requires an investigation and will reveal who's lying.....because someone is actually lying-either her or the CIA. THAT'S THE REAL ISSUE HERE, WE THE PEOPLE SHOULDN'T LET THE MEDIA AND PELOSI'S SURROGATES SPIN THEIR WAY OUT OF IT.

This is supposedly a democracy. When the CIA carries out covert programs under the orders of the Executive administration without informing Congress, then that is the end of democracy. The members of Congress are our representatives. By not informing them of a "serious" (what does that mean?....torture, murder, what?) covert program, then our constitution has been circumvented.
