Jackson's hometown holds memorial for pop icon (AP)

AP - This gritty steel-making city where Michael Jackson got his start playing on street corners with his brothers and competing in talent shows said goodbye to the King of Pop with a show that featured experienced homegrown talent, as well as youngsters who hope to follow in his footsteps. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

OK enough i am sad that he is gone but it will soon be 2 weeks let him rest in peace.I hate to say this but it sounds to me he killed himself to many meds and that is awful it is ashame that somebody didnt step in and stop this sooner.I pray for the children they have a long road ahead of them and i pray that joe jackson doesnt have any involvement in there life he will try his best tomake $ off of them like he did his own kids michael couldnt stand him and to me that is why michael was the way he was.We dont know how the other half lives but now he is at rest.

People are saying MJ was a great man. He was an entertainer. He did nothing to really help society. He sang a few peace songs. Look back to the sixties and you will find a ton of people that not only sang for peace but stood up for it. So put it to rest. I heard someone say he was a great black man, when was the last time MJ was black. He turned himself into a freak. He put out some good songs, but a great man he was not.

i think michael start killing himself when he start changing his skin color. i think all the needle shots all over his body come from . i think they was the shots used to change the color of his skin. and the milk like stuff in the IV bags. thats why he was in so much pain. i think the shots was not only eating the color in his skin but in his bones too. because if you look at all off michaels picture when he was young he had pretty skin. but after the billy jean album he start changing his skin color. you dont have to be smart to put two and two together. michael was not a drug addict but he needed the pain killer to feel better everyday.

The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short Proverbs 10:27......Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. Proverbs 11:4.....and people say the Bible isn't relevant anymore!!

I still think this is all a brilliantly staged publicity stunt by Michael Jackson. He is not dead. He will rise again after his recordings sell out for record profits before his worldwide tour! He will rise again from the tomb. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson themselves will roll away the stone and Michael will float out on a cloud of magic fairy dust. We will all be caught up in the cloud with him along with all his true believing fans and moonwalk our way into eternity wearing white sequin gloves!!

I moved out of Gary 40 years ago. Michael Jackson was
extremely talented and he was gone too soon. However, Gary Indiana
is the armpit of the midwest. The city is broke, the houses are
boarded up, there is trash citywide, not to mention the hight crime
rate. City workers are getting laid off, but the ignoraant mayor, who
sees the city through rose colored glasses, wants to build a
museum??? Where's the money coming from, Mr. Mayor?
You need to fix up that garbage dump of a city.

We look bad as a country when members of society honor a child molester and a freakish clown. He was talented but it does not excuse his pervertd behavior against children. It is amazing how black people always excuse their bad behavior. O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, black men molesting kin, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton... when will it end? How about honoring our fallen heros this much? How about people concentrating their efforts on protecting their 2nd Amendment freedoms? These are much more important than honoring a perverted freak.

How do you HONOR a child molestor and a drug user??? Maybe it is because it is an African American thing....cause I can not think of any other reason!!!!! We NEED to be honoring the men and women giving their lives on the battlefield right now to protect us and our way of life!!!!

" . . . gonna dance all over God's heaven." Now that's hilarious!! Gary is an armpit that the Jackson's abandoned long ago - back in Michael's "black boy" days. They favored the freak show that is California, now known as his "white woman" days. 6,000 showed up for this? What is unemployment in Gary, now? 20%??

Michael Jackson gave forth many insightful messages in his music for change and making a difference in our world! If you think he was famous when he was alive, then wait until you see the crop after his death. Am I wrong? http://www.michaeljacksontrump.blogspot.com

Yea, well did it cost MJ's hometown $1+ million dollars for this memorial like it did L.A.? Who's the idiot here Arnold...you let the CA taxpayers pick up the enormous tab for this unnecessary EVENT when it should have been held in MJ's hometown. And I agree with Mikie...who gives a sh#t...this questionable person has passed on, and like O.J. I don't give a rat's ass...let's move on and forget the sordid past...oh wait...the victims and the families of victims never get to forget and move on.
