10 points for the Indian Warship! Why do we have to go to NATO for advice? Very simple, after all hostages and ships are freed, shoot to destroy, at all locations.
Why don't they just send along a group of special forces like Navy S.E.A.L.S. or Army Rangers on board to protect the ships. The cost would be far less than the ransoms, and believe me, those pirates wouldn't dare try to capture a ship knowing they might be on board. Another thing, they should have public hangings of the pirates they capture. It would deter others from trying it in the future.
It would seem to me the prudent thing to do is station an aircraft carrier in the region. Radio contact from the endangered ship to the carrier, I believe, would effect an immediate and quick response from jet fighters which could and would easily destroy the pirate ships with their missles.
Arrrrrr Matey Keel haul the lot of them and blast all them pirate ships into Davy Jones locker. Arrrrrrr!
Why is Indian navy the first to destroy pirate ship. As far as I know there are navies from at least 5 other countries patrolling the area. This should be happening with the same frequency as pirates capturing ships.
Having been a liveaboard boater for many years, one of the fears we had, being boarded by pirates in foreign and even US waters. I've talked to our naval and Coast Guard about this. Their answer,"They can't be everywhere".
My thought is, let the pirates take a couple more super tankers bound for the states. Now we are talking about some serious money that won't be making it to our politicians pockets. The rest of us probably won't hear about it, but you can bet our special ops people will get involved.
What we are hearing is only a fraction of how many ships are really getting boarded. Ship companies don't want to advertise that they are pirated. Their insurance goes up and they will loose business from clients. Just Google the subject, it's out of control.

I much like the rest of the world would like to see Somolia and all of it's theiving, low-life animals wiped from the face of the earth. I'm in Minnesota, and for those of u who don't know this, but MN is home to the largest Somolian group in the US. These people HATE the US, the Western culture-they are violent, crude creatures that are 2,000 years behind mankind. They brutalize their female children by castraiting/cutting the girls with home knives and hot irons to keep them from 'desiring sex, they steal, lie cheat all outside of they're culture-they smell like s*** and in my opinion, should be kicked out of this Country before they can do us harm. These bastards are the home terror cells waiting to destroy the US and we feed, cloth and house them better than we care for our own countrymen.
