The alleged Army shooter did not have help or outside orders in his attack, officials say. » Full Story on Y! Featured

Yup...has nothing to do with being a Mulsim or terrorist-related activity.

The BS meter just pegged out.

A fair trial is not about impartiality alone. You can have jurors who are bias set a bias aside. A fair trial also has to do with the rights of the defendant to confront his accusers. Hell yes, he can get a fair trial. I know for certain I can put my bias aside and weight the evidence. I think I could sit quietly while he or his lawyer confronts his accusers. After all of that I could give out a verdict of guilt.

THIS IS B.S....of course everybody is going to blame this guy for his actions and to a point I do, but personally, I blame Uncle Sam! The military suspected 6 mths ago that something wasn't right with this guy and instead of having him go through a mandatory psychiatric evaluation, they slid him through the cracks, and WHAM, 13 people are now dead and several injured! WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO PROTECT OUR TROOPS! OH WAIT A MINUTE..UNCLE SAM NEVER DOES THAT, ONLY USE THEM AND THEN THROW THEM AWAY LIKE DOGS!

I am an AP government student we just learned about court cases and fair trial and all the government related stuff and this guy could get a fair trial but it is most likely (definate) that he would be pronounced guilty of man slaughter and in my own opinoin he deserves the gallows.

It's treason plain and simple. Fair trial? PLEASE, where was the fair trial for the soldiers that he killed? A soldier that turns his weapon on his brothers and sisters should receive as good as he gave - after he is done explaining himself. I am all for a diverse culture, this country was founded by those who wanted freedom to worship, those founding fathers built this country on Christian beliefs but left the door open for those of other faiths to live and worship in peace. If you don't love our country and can't abide by the laws then LEAVE we don't want you. The man should should be executed - end of story he does not deserve a fair trial.

Fair trial? Sure it's not only possible, but extremely likely. Let's weigh the evidence we have now. Dude walks into an area on base where he knows nobody is armed, stands on a table so he can have great visability, starts shooting at anything that moves, reloads continuously, and doesn't stop till a brave woman police officer engages him in a shoot out and takes him down. Let me ponder this for 1/1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 of a second. Guilty! And since it was a military crime, no need for a civilian court. Just take him out back and shoot him for treason.

Muslim Extremism cannot be stopped with diplomacy. All of this I'm OK, Your OK fuzzy BS has got to go. If the government will not stop this nonsense then the American people will eventually have to. We will have to elect officials that have the fortitude to stand up to these people and fight fire with fire regardless of the minority's opinion. The time is coming 2010 ELECTION/ 2012 ELECTION. Get the liberal, muslim loving, tree hugging DEMS OUT!!!!

They had better keep this in a military court. If it goes to a civil court, Gods only knows how long it could draw on and what sort of defense the other side may try to come up with. This guy needs the death sentence now.

How does this even become a civilian affair? He's a soldier, committed murder- oh, sorry...was shot by a cop while carrying two handguns and discharging them in the general direction of anyone around while mumbling something in arabic- and was shot by a police officer for doing so...on a military base!! Let the military court martial him and execute him for treason, he's government property. Personally, I'd spring for the round that they could put in his head....I have the same respect for his rights as he had for his victims.

I could not believe that the Hasan's lawyer siad he doubts this guy (Hasan) will get a fair try. Definitely, he will get a fair try and he deserves the gallows. He uses government money to persuade his medical career in the military and then turns around to kill so many his fellow servicemen and service women. What an opportunist and a man of God he is. He killed and wounded so many innocents. I will wait to see he gets the fair trial to pay for his awful act.

I'm taking bets as to how long it will take for him to request POW status. You idiots are bound and determined to martyr this man, aren't you? Stop handing these freaks so much power for God's sake....pun intended.

His lawyer will try any trick, i.e. blame it on anything and everything but him, in the book to get anything but the death penalty for this guy. If he gets the death penalty then he will sit on death row forever during the appeal process. This is not the Justice everyone wants, but it is the Justice we are going to get.

The 'can't get a fair trial' whine is hilarious, considering he could have chosen to avoid a trial altogether. Yeah, something to think about before shooting people up.

My personal thoughts: Get him well, take his life (slowly & painfully) and send him straight to hell! If ya can't take the heat, get outta the kitchen!

First, blame that wimp liberal Jimmy Carter for disarming our troops on their own bases and ships.
Second, blame all the other presidents for not re-arming them.
Third, blame this b******* multicultural, politically correct society we've devolved into.
Does anyone actually think that multiculturalism is good? It's not. It's divisive and destroys the Melting Pot effect that made our country so strong. If people want to retain their own culture so badly, they should stay where they are and not inflict themselves upon us.
Death to Multiculturalism... Death to Political Correctness.

The defense attorney stated there were facts that needed to be "developed." That is a spin to say, we have to get our stories straight.

Praise God! The honorable Major Hasan is now alive and soon well enough to tell his side of the story! I as a loyal, patriotic Dem who voted Obama am very scared for the safety of Hasan and his right to a fair trial! I mean, hello, anyone?? If there’s a real victim here, it’s Hasan because he really will be mistreated now—if he wasn’t already before—since he won’t get a fair trial! Damn it! As a Dem American, it makes me downright angrier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest that an honorable member of the US military will not get a fair trial! Damn it! Maybe this is the discrimination that Hasan was talking about that made him snap, eh? Lastly, as a shrink, Hasan was probably just "studying" psychopathic and terrorist personalities, and that’s why he was electronically communicating with radical imams. I applaud the US military for erring on the side of caution and being PC by not following up on Hasan’s communications since that would’ve hurt Muslims’ feelings.

Tie him to a flag pole and gut the arse. Let him spill blood for the innocent lives he took!

I think Obama will claim he is a hero, when in fact they are both Jihad terrorists!!

Oh BTW, what happened to the two other shooters? A friend of mine is a MP at Ft. Hood and he said there was at least one shooter in the PX! This was after Hasan was already shot. I'm smelling a cover up here. They just didn't want us to know that this was a true terrorist attack.
