I honestly feel that a lot of people including myself, will be disappointed by the actions of President Obama. I am one of his supporters, but now I am beginning to feel that I am no longer important now that he is elected.

I am totally bemused by this article. Obama did beat her in the primaries but it was quite close and could have gone her way. In other words, here is a lady who could have been the next President and the author is wondering if she has the right credentials to be the secretary of state! Give us a break. All the conjectures about the political calculations are just way over-blown. Bill Clinton is a liability? Give us a break again. Outside the U.S. Bill Clinton is actually quite popular and foreigners like him (when compared to any other U.S. President).

Also is there a huge list of candidates with excellent credentials?

I just hope Obama is not thinking like this author and picks the right candidate.

I hope he has the guts to appoint her for secretary of state, she will work for him and will do some serious diplomacy. If he doesn't appoint her, he is a bigger fool then I think he is....

I did not vote for Obama. The main reason being his inexperience & naive. He has now proven it by surrounding himself with a bunch of former Clinton members. It is obvious that somewhere a deal was made & the "change" Obama highlighted during his campaign was a return to the Clinton days. We the public were sold a bill of goods & the country will suffer. Obama & the Clintons put one over on us.

Why so much vitriol and bitterness towards Hillary Clinton? Is it jealousy? Are people intimidated by her presence and obvious knowledge and capabilities?
I think she would be an excellent choice.

I am so tired of the hateful respondents concerning Senator Hillary Clinton who is heads above most men in Government because of her intelligence, integrity, vision, determination, insight, strength, and so much more.

Whatever, she chooses to do, she will outdistance most men.

Please Mr. President-Elect, we beseech you to not put any Clintons near your cabinet! If the American people had wanted Hilary, they would NOT have voted for YOU in the primaries. (by the way, you could have won this election without them). Send her as ambassador to London or Paris. You promised the American people CHANGE... those folks are not change, and they are not worthy of your cabinet.

I voted for Barack Obama for CHANGE! In the primaries Sen Obama criticised Sen Clinton for "same old politics". I did not vote for Sen Obama to have him turn our govt over to the Clintons!! We've had enough of them in the 90s- and I am a loyal Democrat. They brought nothing but scandal and controversy!

Obama's change-Republicans OUT the Clinton Democrats IN. I voted for him, but now I am concerned he wants co-leadership as he really doesn't think he can lead our country. I voted for you because I wanted change, this is looking like the same Washington insiders from years past. I respect Ms. Clinton but if you wanted her as a co-leader you should have made her your V.P.

For those who are a Hillary fan, its the Clinton's that us into the housing mess. Who do you pushed "FAIR HOUSING"?

This was done to help POOR people buy homes. NO MONEY DOWN.
From there, values have escalated to a level that you can't help but to think: let fall. They didn't see the common sense of 10% down on a purchase. If a person can't afford 10% down and know how to budget and balance, your going to sink.

YOU HAVE THE CLINTON'S TO THANK FOR THIS MOVE.

Clinton is nothing short of a career criminal. She and her friggin husband are dirty. They need to go back to Arkansas, hang out at the library and make pictures with tourists who believe the lies that come out of their mouths.

Obama, listen to me, I'm a Republican but, now that you been elected I'm here to support you on behalf of our great country. The biggest mistake you would make that will haunt you all throughout your presidency is choosing Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State. She is not Good for anything that require gaining people confidence or respect, she is a very selfish woman and, her husband have manipulated her into becoming as useless as he is.

with the state of things in our country now it is smart to put expierienced people in his cabinet. it's not a time for on the job training. he can change people later if he needs to it's not like the cabinet people are elected. Obama is playing it smart

Its a disgusting choice. What can Obama, who I was for from the get go,thinking? He read the same book I did about Lincolns team of rivals. He better re read that part again pertaining to Lincolns appointment of his riva Salmon Chase his Treasury Secretary. Its Hillary all over. Wake up Barak. We do not need the Clintons return to the White House.Don;t let the millions of people down who voted for you. Where is the CHANGE? So far our elected Prez has surronded himself with Clinton people.

If Hillary really wants to support this administration then she should stay in the Senate. She could easily become the most respected and effective senators. Unfortunately, that will take time and she is clearly in a rush - I don't know to where. Bill Richardson would make a far better Secretary of State - he is truly diplomatic and experienced.
