Wow. I read Siddartha. That's really interesting. Too bad he was caught eating and napping, makes the whole story kinda contradicting. But that's awfully rude to reject him because of his age. IF he was reincarnated wouldn't he not have the memories / experiences / knowledge of his past lives?
I think it's interesting news/info. But obviously the Buddha council or whoever they are know more about Buddha's qualities than this kid. If he can mediate for long periods of time without food and water, why does he have to be in a bunker? What is he or others hiding? Or at least have a camera at the entrance 24/7. But I guess it's about the believers' faith in him that matters most to them. Just like in many religions. If some have faith, let them. If he is a fake, they will all find out some time. He isn't really harming anyone since he is only mediating alone. It'd be interesting to follow up on him in a year.
This is the weirdest article ever. Who wrote this? What is the article trying to convey? That he is a con-artist? Of course no human being can live without food, water and sleep. His followers have apparently exaggerated about that, but still if he really is meditating in the forest and all its cool. Whatever makes him happy,hehe. As said before, will be interesting to follow him a bit. And of course, he is not a re-incarnation of Buddha himself, but he could be a re-incarnation of something, or just a person who loves to meditate.
i see this article as a insult to lord Buddha. this person may have special powers to meditate but that is not Buddhism. and Buddhism is for wise people. pls stop making stories as such. "be a reincarnation of Buddha"
there is no reincarnation for Buddha. if his intention is to put people in the wrong path he'll never reach Nirvana.... he'll become a big sinner just like "dewdath"

Maybe the article isn't trying to "convey" anything but the facts. I believe it would be up to the reader to decide. To each, his own.
This teen may be able to slow his breathing and decrease his appetite for days. . . that's humanly possible. To say he doesn't, elevates him in his follower's eyes who made personally need some glimmer of hope or the possibility of it. . . blind faith. Though it's not news worthy, it's providing people with happiness. In the end, that's all that matters.

Yahoo totally played me into reading this, though...the tag line "who allegedly performs miracles." And then in the article there's no mention of any acts that he has performed, although his message is good.

this kid a buddha reincarnation or what ever he brings peace and spiritual harmony for people so as long as he doesn't molest any young boys like the western religions he is good in my book.
These so-called followers of this boy don't seem to know the basic principles of Buddhism. Buddha cannot be reincarnated because he attained nirvana and escaped the recurring cycle of birth and death. The attainment of Nirvana is the end of reincarnation. Of course, I don't deny that he may be a spiritally advanced person who has some supernormal powers. He's not the only one. A rigourous ascetic life and long periods of meditation can bestow certain powers that a normal human being does not possess, but the Buddha himself has warned against using such powers except when absolutely necessary, and then, only without publicity, because preoccupation with the attainment of supernormal powers can divert one from the true goal, which is nirvana.

Well,A Lord Buddha who attained nirvana cannot be born again.This boy may have attained to a some stage.But that does not mean he is Gautama Siddhartha...Or else he may wish to be a buddha in future.
As our Lord Buddha resited,A person who wish to become a buddha has to sacrifice a lot in his lives.Our Maithri Bodhisthva (who is the next buddha)who is in "thavthisa" heaven will be born after the world's end.So definitely this boy who call himself a buddha cannot be acceptable.
Look at those photos...he looks so...uhh..err..happy to be there. Wasn't the Buddha supposed to be happy and laughing? Those people think he's the new Elvis or something. So sad that the media camps around to take people's hope away. It doesn't matter how we get hope or which form it is sent in. It only matters that people have hope in a world that has been turned upside down in the past few years. I think the media has so much to do with our outlook on life.
