Man confesses to shooting Kan. abortion provider (AP)

AP - Defiant and unapologetic, a man accused of shooting a Kansas abortion provider confessed to the slaying Monday, telling The Associated Press that he killed the doctor to protect unborn children. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

While I don't condone murder I don't think this was murder because he was saving the lives of untold children. God bless this great American HERO!!!

i can respect people who are opposed to abortion based upon their sanctity of life position. But I have encountered too many right to life protesters who were filled with hate. I tried to take my daughter to the doctor because she had an ear infection and these crazy people surrounded us --screamed at us and would not let me reach the doctors office--all because one of the partners in this practice provides abortions at another site. people who care about children don't behave that way in front of a small child

One can only wonder how many lives of the unborn Scott Roeder may have saved? I absolutely do not condone his methods, but it is difficult to argue the end result. Roeder acted out of compassion for the rights of the unborn, some of whom were nearly full term. Tiller acted out of .........oh yeah, the desire for lucrative monetary compensation. Roeder killed a single greedy, late term, dirt bag abortion provider. Tiller killed thousands of viable unborn lives. So who is the real monster here?

So "thou shalt not kill" isn't such a big deal in this case? Funny, I don't remember any asterisks in the Bible. If you don't like abortion, fine. Shooting a doctor dead isn't pro-life, and (I hope) it's not Christian.

He should get the death penalty.

He meets all of the criteria legally, to recieve a death sentence.

He's not insane, it was premeditated, he had intent, he has motive, and he is justifying his actions without apology. = death penalty.

He is a typical God Fearing loving and forgiving, Christian.

Kill people to "save the unborn"?

Sorry but this doctor will just be replaced by another one.

Also I might add ONLY God can judge people. He is putting himself in God place by being the law, judge and executioner. That is the direct way to Hell.

The Bible made it very clear that one must follow the laws of the land otherwise you will have anarchy!

Well, killing someone in the defense of others is a valid defense to murder. The problem is his understanding of the concept, including what the word "imminent" means. If I see someone coming at you with a knife, I can kill that person to defend your life if I believed you were in mortal danger. Even if it turns out he wasn't going to kill you, if my belief was reasonable, it is still not murder. (Manslaughter, maybe. But not murder.)

But the doc was killed in church. He wasn't performing an abortion. There was no imminent risk to an unborn. This creep went to the church to kill him. This is intent. He has admitted as such. This was murder even if you agree that abortion is wrong.

It's just too bad that Roeder wasn't aborted. He is a poster child for why abortion should be legal.

These people should be considered home grown American terrorists and should be treated no better or worse than members of any other terrorist organization.

Scott Roeder is an American hero. He took action to defend children who were about to be murdered in cold blood. He also apparently saved four stupid women from becoming murders. In the eternities, they will be grateful to him, even more than they already are. Imagine if some nazi could walk into a maternity ward and just start killing babies at will. WOULDN'T IT BE LEGAL TO KILL HIM? Of course it would be. I wish I could be on this jury. I wish we had governors and a president with courage to pardon Scott Roeder. I would name the federal "health and human services" building after him if I were president. The liar in this story claims that condoning this "invites anarchy." WRONG. What she's really whining about is that a man took ACTION. It is no more "anarchy" than defending a child from an attacker as he walks home from school.

Roeder is just another terrorist using religion as an excuse. Using fear and terror to try and force people to agree with him.

Walking into a maternity ward and killing babies is a crime. attacking a school child is a crime. providing an abortion is not a crime. maybe you think abortion should be a crime --but is not . wanting to change the law is one thing. condoning murder has no place in any right to life movement.

Late term abortions are in 99% of cases, are women who intend to have the baby, but can't for dire medical reasons. As for any other abortion, it is her body and her choice. Most of these" pro-life" advocates don't seem to understand this fundemental right. Life does not begin at conception, it begins at birth. I've never understood why these "pro-life" people care so much about someone that they do not know.. An unwanted pregnancy is just that, unwanted. It's so hypocritical that these" pro-life" people care so much about life, and yet kill another human being in defense of their cause..People have free will to do or choose their own way in life, most religions are clear on this point. These women will live with their choices for the rest of their lives. No one has the right to choose for them.

Religion is like an opiate. It soothes the brain and makes the host numb and fills him with a warm sense of balance. But it is still a drug and should be outlawed in the same manner. (just my opinion and I know everyone won't agree with me).

His defense will not hold up. Only one way he could use that defense- if he was protecting his own unborn child.

His extreme justification would mean that it would be open season on drug dealers- shoot them at will with no moral or legal consequences.

This is the christian extremism. Republican? That I can't say, but I have a strong opinion...

Pro-life groupies condoning murder? This concept is true insight into the crazy ideation of these fanantics. They are all insane and in need of mental health treatment if they are unable to explain the logic of their stance--and they are unable to do so. While they are running around setting themselves up as the seat of judgement of their fellow human beings, they are totally unaware that they are courting the eternal damnation to hell. What will be their excuse to Satan upon the arrival to hell: I thought that God did not really mean thou shalt not kill?

They're not pro-life. They're extremists and terrorists who don't care about the health of the mother or the health of anyone who disagrees with their lunacy.

Nutjob and hypocrite. If this guy truly valued human life he wouldn't be taking it upon himself to end the life of one. And what is this weirdness about "preborn children" instead of "fetuses"? What does he call himself? A "predead adult"?

A better term than pro-life would be pro-justice. I favor protecting the innocent, but punishing the guilty, as most pro-lifers do. Killing an unborn baby is an immoral taking of life (which is the definition of murder), but the execution of a guilty criminal is not.
