Ruth was listed as a bookkeeper - where is her accountability? And BTW - the average wage for a bookkeeper in the US is $50,000 per year. How did she amass a fortune of $2.5M? I bet a lot of bookkeepers would like a handout of $2.5M to live on, especially women Ruth's age who had to deal with wage discrimination all their lives. She should forfeit the $2.5M. There are a lot of small investors who were impacted who did not even know who Bernie Madoff was and relied on their investment firms to invest their money wisely. Make them whole. $2.5M would go a long way. And don't waste all the money in lengthy bureacratic hearings and administration that gobble up what's left.
What took them this long to seize Madoff's penthouse? They should have gotten their hands on all of Madoff's properties, and that of his wife and his sleazy sons. Then sell all this property and divide the proceeds proportionately among the people Madoff ripped off.

What I can't understand is why did he not quit when he got to let's say 500 million or so? Fifty billion and kept on going. You would figure at the age he's at he would live comfortably for the rest of his life on that, heck, even on 50 million, sheesh! It goes to show you, greed has no limits.
