heres an idea since the oil companies have virtually admitted to screwing us out of billions of dollars why dont they take and bail out the auto industry.
You know they have to have cars to be able to keep raping the rest of us at the pump.Seems tome it would be win win for theoil companies and auto industry
Wish Congress had done this to the banks and the $700 billion that Congress just handed over, no questions asked. The "bailout" is a scam for Bu$hie to giove his rich friends golden parachute money that will likely never be repaid, and cocky Bu$hie kniows it will not be repaid. There is not one single financial statement nor certified independent audit to back up the bank's cries of trouble. The banks control the stock market to make it look like a "crash." It's a give-away.
As a worker on the lower end of auto industry chain I believe if the auto companies start trimming their money to run the upper part of the industries as they did us. They should cut their pay, get rid of the stuff that isn't necessary and people who aren't necessary. We have lost several people because they could get by without them and save on their salaries and cut exspences by doing it. When a company needs to cut back they need to start at the top and go down the line. Cut exspences every where you can. We have lost shift differenials over time pay is down to just time and ahalf all days. Other pluses have disappeared also. I pray that my job will last at least a year or more so I can retire. Everybody has to make sacrifices from pressidents to sweepers, Amen
Good story. As a former auto industry supplier employee, I am for helping them...but only if they make whatever cuts are necessary so they can be a long term viable business. We can't take them on to raise.
Management needs to make cuts but also union wages and inefficient work rules need to be cut to rates that are competitive with other auto makers. Why should we help them continue to make 50% - 100% more than other people doing similar jobs? I have not owned a foreign car in 20 years but my future cars will be foreign if they give them a dime without the above cuts.
Uppper management should stop waste from the top down. Lower their own salaries and incentives. Giving them a (loan) makes things worse. As Americans,we are being rapped by oil companies and the auto industry. If they would lower the prices of cars and oil we would all have more money to buy new cars and keep the industry moving forward. I knew that years ago we would have to come to a grinding halt...(this so called recession). We as citizens and hard workers do not make hardly any more money for the past 20 years or more, but everything around us just keeps rising. Get the economy moving by lowering pays from the top, keep oil prices down, keep loans low, and give us(as U.S. citizens and tax payers) a raise to help us! I don't believe in a one time payout either, we can't move the economy with that little bit. I'd like to see heads roll from the top. And, finally I see a clearer picture with our President elect......Thank god.
I believe that one of the conditions of the bailout for the auto companies should be to close down some foreign auto plants and reopen our plants that have been closed. They want our help yet they put us out of work. Who did they think would be able to buy their products when they lay off our people? I say put our own people back to work before you ask us to bail you out. Also, cut the FAT from the top. How in the HELL can you justify getting millions in salaries and bonuses when ones doing the actual work are barely getting by or losng their jobs and homes and lives. You big shot executives are a pathetic, greedy bunch of jerks.
And the oil companies should also help bailout the auto industry with their WINDFALL PROFITS after raping consumers at the pump.
I hope the incoming administration won't let the American people down. Amen.
How many companies already have 25 billion dollars to spend to improve their product. Someone needs to kick these people extra, extra hard and get them started doing what they know they need to do. Asking for another 25 billion to make a product that no one wants and is going to be hard to sell is stupid. Beef up their plants that already meet the requirements and close the rest until they get them retooled. They already know they will have to do it and now is a good time to start. Sure wish I had a lot of extra money sitting there to improve my business. Sure would not be sitting on it. Spending that 25 billion would sure help the economy while getting them back on their feet. Looks like a lot of new jobs making the new parts they need.
If the bailout is approved who will be the watchdog to make sure the plan is being handled correctly and the automakers are adhering to the terms of the plan? I hate to say this but,if the bailout is approved I bet the automakers will go back to there bad habits. Our government will screw it up again!!!!!
