US/Russian tensions rise over Georgia (AP)

AP - A U.S. warship anchored off Georgia for joint military exercises Tuesday while Russian jets pounded mock targets nearby in a sign of lingering tensions over the former Soviet nation turned U.S. ally. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

Guess the talks with the Russians didnt go as well as printed. Sign the petition for the resignation or impeachment of Barrack Obama, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid at SHADOWFAXREPORT.com. They have broken their oath of office to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. If they do not resign they should be impeached for treasonous acts.

It looks like O doesn't know how the carrot and stick trick works. You don't show them a carrot and poke them with a stick.

I guess all the kissy kissy "End of Cold War" smack that was spred by the state media was unfounded. Just last week for hells' sakes.

The US just can't resist getting it's grotty little hands on every corner of the globe. Is there any conflict it's not involved with?

Wait, I have been told by the American Elite Media that Obama has this world figured out and we are all going to just get along because his kissing up to every dictator and thug in the world would make them love America and we are all going to eat Rainbow Stew and drink free Bubble-up. What is this AP Reporter doing by raining on our parade? I was afraid reality would set in at some point. Kaddafi is out of his cage and all the loving Obama did with Russia last week doesn’t seem to be helping. I am going to write CNN, MSNBC, CBS and NBC and find out what gives? I’ve been bamboozled.

The reason the US military is getting involved in Georgia is the same reason it's occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, threatening Iran, is readying itself to invade Pakistan, has built more new military bases in the region than anywhere else in the world by far, and has 5 of its 9 naval fleets surrounding the region: OIL. There's a major oil pipeline running through Georgia from the fields of Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea coast. But none of this is being done for OUR BENEFIT, of course, my fellow American citizens and taxpayers - it's just being done with OUR MONEY and OUR SOLDIERS' LIVES.

World is so troublesome when someone is control someonelse. World may not be peaceful if someonelse is controlled by someone. If we seek trouble either way, what is best would be to mind the own business and only then if a person or a country would find the peace. Remember the sky does not have boundaries, people create them. He who does not create boundaries himself, nobody can limit his freedom.

Does US destroyer has to go near Georgia to do naval exercise? Only sea we have is near Georgia? This is to me just like I go in front of my neighbour's house and exercise if he opens the door and walk pass me and he get hit by me, I am not the one to blame. :) :) :)

Lovely, some seeks trouble, some seeks freedom, some seeks puritiy, some who cannot live with everything.

Mr. Obama, you cannot treat Russia as an enemy, have military maneuvers and battleships near its border, and then call for better relationship and for cooperation!
Are you so naive, or you are just more talkative version on Mr. Bush?
America must be more picky with their "allies"!
Look at the map: where is America and where is Georgia?
What America needs over there?
US/Russia relationship is MUCH MUCH MUCH more important than some psycho clown Saakashvili!
Why it's so hard to figure out?????

How dare those Russians to be unhappy when American destroyer comes to their coast?????
Oh yeah that Georgia is so-o freaking important!
As wise Sarah one said yes, we can go to war with Russia for Georgia!
Hurry, hurray!
Wait a second!
Even our coolest country in the world America cannot defeat Russia simply because Russia has enuf nuke and rockets to turn America to radioactive desert.
Long live Palin and all idiots who voted for her!
Wait a sec, long live? Cons will die also!
Cons are a not immune from radioactivity! ;)
Georgia (to be precise-its crazy President, because Georgians and Russian are NOT enemies!) definitely worth it!
Let's all die for Georgian psycho President!

I personally think that the WHOLE WORLD NEEDS A GENERAL OVERHAUL...

THE WORLD IS FULL OF KILLINGS and ALL AROUND THE GLOBE YOU CAN FIND MISUNDERSTANDING BETWEEN RELIGIONS, FEUD BETWEEN AFRICAN TRIBES, ETC., ETC., ETC.,

The world is dying of Pollutions, Global Warmings, abuse of its natural resources, etc., etc., etc.,

Super power countries will someday clash with each other then comes an end to the world.

Maintaining peace while maintaining the integrity of the Georgian state will be a delicate dance. The focus should remain on subtly strengthening and protecting the Georgian government. That will require Georgia to invite a small contingent of US military "advisers" to assist in training their military and the US essentially parking a warship there to dissuade the Russians from another incursion. Then, allow the status quo to continue until Russia tires of the effort.

It's funny, Bush gets criticized for his friendship with Putin, yet Obama is somehow expected to make things "better" than the close relationship US/Russian had the last 8yrs.

I don't get it. Political analysts are stupid.

The Government is just trying to create Panic for 2012, their going to shout "the sky is falling" just as they did in 2000 with the "second coming of Christ" and the computers crashing down causing a meltdown of life as we know it!!
Russia has seen how we handle N Korea and Iran, if they become worried or "threatened" then its all for show..

I don't think now is the time for US to be posturing against Russia. If they want to support Georgia, do so in a quiet manner. Selling arms is one thing, defending them is another. We weren't crazy about it when Russia set up shop in Cuba. I also think we have enough on our plate.

I'm amazed Russia has agreed to let our troops and equipment travel across their nation in order to be deployed in Afghanistan. It's for the money, I know, but the Russians hold the cards and I thought they would tell us to go to hell. Especially with the problems over Georgia, a "nation" ruled by a lunatic.
