China's mining industry is the world's deadliest, despite government promises to improve mining safety. Most accidents are blamed on failures to follow safety rules or a lack of required ventilation, fire-control and other safety equipment.
For all the Right-Wing Cheneykooks who infest this Yahoo Network and continually harange the Unions, including the UMW, this is the main reason for unions. If not for the UMW, our death rate would be right up with theirs.

Why does China even have a, "Foreign Policy", or aggressive computer hacking?

It very much sounds like they can't even handle emergencies or policies within their own borders... am I missing something?

Words spoken by the USA about Chinese human rights, worker safety and persistent reminders that human lives deserve better quality than most in China receive, in this case likely no search would've been conducted. In China money is king. Chinese should learn better respect for the voice of the USA, it speaks for their people as human beings, nothing more and nothing less. 500,000 farmers who earn less than $1000 per year. Safety engineering of schools is corrupt. As you know in modern China the CPC can no longer hide from truth. Today Chinese enjoy slightly better lives due to the USA who cares about human lives. The CPC has standards already in place which allow the CPC to turn it's back on everyone's safety, in the "interest of national security". Today it was in the "popular interst of national security" to publicize the findings. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Knowing the Chinese, these miners were accidentally found. It was not a rescue team, just more workers sent into a collapsed shaft, and holy moly, their still alive.

China is replete with stories of rags to riches, but the new money, fat cats took advantage of loopholes in law and sort out red tapes by bribing officials to get prosperous. In such hierarchical society, miners have to eke out a living. Even so they hardly to make ends meet.

Countless emperors in beijing have come & gone but chinese have never known human rights, justice, freedom, lack of corruption common in other countries.
Non-chinese regions should be allowed freedom.
Independence from the beijing emperors, the han
Freedom from chinese insecurity, arrogance, discrimination, exploitation, barbarism. To have their civility, dignity, rights, freedom, civilization. Barbaric communits chinese are interested only in colonizing & exploiting non-chinese countries. China should face its sordid history. The chinese have never been able to justly govern themselves. Unable to provide justice, civil rights, freedom hunger, corruption, exploitation to their own han. Han emperors responsible for policies which have led to such suffering exploitation & anger should be educated, imprisoned, executed.
Allow non-chinese peoples and countries their freedom. Chinese "progress" will not buy their love & longing for independence, freedom. Tibet Freeeee

It is the coal, it is all about the coal. Not human rights. The US and energy conservationist are putting an end to polutants. So what about China and other parts of the world. What are they doing mining for coal anyway. Don't they know Obamanomics is putting an end to the use of coal. So if we try to protect the environment and OZ layer and other countries do not then what we are doing is all for nothing except hitting the Americans in the wallet once again. It is all political. But China should have gotten thes men out a long time ago. 600 yards away and it took 25 days? Sounds like business as usual and they stumbled across them by accident.

I don't care what country they are from, anybody who works in a coal mine has my respect. I know that some miners are working down there because that's the only work available and it's either that or starve. Along with their families I was liucky enough to be born in a place where I didn't have to have in a coal mine.
God Bless all miners.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would be well advised to take back his remarks on what has happened in China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Mr Erdogan's description of the riots in Xinjiang as "a kind of genocide" is an irresponsible and groundless accusation. The fact that 137 of the 184 persons killed in the riots are Han Chinese speaks volumes for the nature of the event.
These are evidenced by the preferential policies of the central government for ethnic minority groups. For example, the family planning policy applies only to the Han Chinese and never to ethnic minority groups. Candidates for national college entrance examinations from ethnic minority groups get an extra 20 points for their enrollment.
