House health plan to boost taxes on rich (AP)

AP - House Democrats on Tuesday rolled out a far-reaching $1.5 trillion plan that for the first time would make health care a right and a responsibility for all Americans, with medical providers, employers and the wealthiest picking up most of the tab. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

To all our Senators and to our President: Fix first Medicare and Social Security, only then we might trust you with our health care. And only if you, and your children will have by law to use it.

The best way to solve a problem is to spend more money on that problem. This is the Demoncrat motto. Learn to say it in your sleep, you will be tested on this for the next 3.5 years.

Say it with me, "The best way to solve a problem is to spend more money on that problem."

We have a young energetic president trying to push through health care reform. He is opposed by the obstructionists who hope to win points by opposing anything the president does. Will sanity prevail at the end? We should all hope so but so many years have gone by without a solutions in sight. Now finally we are getting closer but the losers of the last elections are still around trying to nullify anything good and decent proposed by the winner of the elections.

Why does it have to be this plan? Why isn't the President following his promise from the campaign trail to listen to ALL sides from outside the beltway? He just seems to be toting the party line and letting Pelosi and Reed do their thing. Business as usual. Where is the change?

We need healthcare reform but we DO NOT need government beauracracy put on top of a failed system because other people do it. Who says it is the best way to go? The American people are the most innovative and resourceful people, why rush into a government program using 20th century philosophies when if we take a step back, we can come up with a system that is better than everyone else. Isn't that the American way? Or have we forgotten that in our growing welfare state and mindset?

This President should be challenging the top minds OUTSIDE of the beltway not just toting the same old crap Hillary tried to sell us 13 years ago. Sad!

hansli, your post is idiotic.

You are saying that just because Obama won the election that he knows unequivocally what is best for this country ?? And that just because the repubs are not in power then what they think does not matter because it must be wrong ??

Have you lost your f***** mind ??

Obama is trying to shove another bad piece of legislation down our collective throats and we are just supposed to sit there and assume that he knows what is best for us?

You are wrong. I am glad that the repubs and some of the dems are making this difficult because THAT IS THE WAY THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO WORK.

We can all be happy happy to hear this announced on the very same day the US debt reached $1 trillion. And the same news article said we'll reach $2 trillion by fall. BY FALL. That's only 2 months away! Spend - spend - spend!!

The Republicans suck. They really do. But they don't suck even 1/10 as much as the Democrats.

First, I hope they read the bill and second, there's is no way anyone can "fix" the health care situation in one week!!!! Are you kidding? Regardless of the government does, it won't work they way they say it and it will probably costs about 5 times as much. Least government is best government.

I want to "check mate" America before they figure out what I have done to them. Then, as they all twist in the wind and suffer, I will have gotten all my revenge for the way they treated me when I was a little boy in Hawaii, and for all those terrible things my mother put me through. That's justice. Thanks a hell of a lot stupid college professors and stupid voters!!

What Obama really means is:
Let's pass this thing quick before the people realize its another couple of trillion we can spend and tax them without them knowing about it.
Just like the stimulus bill, we need it now before anyone can read the fine print.

Obama, we know what you are up to!!!!!!

Health care will become a joke. How are you going to weed out all of those illegals with the 10 different id's?
What about the hypochondriac that goes to seven different doctors for a little something else. More mothers little helpers.
Yes won't it be great to have universal health care.
I think people should be a little more concerned with universal employment. So should the president.
Is it just me or does this guy seem to think he can do it all.
Looks like someone has a bit of a god complex

Until now why do you think that people from all over, even Canada come here for medical treatment?
It is because the universiality of medical care has opened up widespread fraud, shortage of doctors, nurses and medical equipment.
Check out something called E-Health in Ontario. I laughed my butt off. Consultants charged taxpayers a fee for calculating their fee.
(Can't wait until your mother of father has to wait in an emergency ward clutching their chest to no avail because there wasn't enough money for nurses doctors and beds.)
No the only ones that are going to benfit from this will be bureaucrats

As a disabled veteran I can honestly say (with experience) that this country does not want national healthcare. If you want a model of what Gov't Healthcare would look like..look at the VA. I've been waiting for an MRI of my shoulder for 4 months now!

With all the superior minds here in the blog (no kidding I am sure you have good ideas) and you seem to know what is best for the country then may I suggest you lead the now tens of millions of Very unsatisfied Americans to freedom of this shix President. If you know what to do and do nothing short of violence then you are part of the problem. A spark of leadership will ignite a blaze that no one can stop.
Evil prevails when good men do nothing. Stop him or please bye quiet. Leadership is what is needed now and a boycott of the media ad sponsers to remove the power they are using to shape public opinion. A letter to the CEO of an advertiser who supports left idea media will soon withdraw the financing of AP or NBC or CBS and force them to change tactics of file for bankruptcy.
