Unemployment rate hits 10.2%, worst since 1983 (CNNMoney.com)

SOOO...Why was the market up almost 2 percent yesterday? Exactly what I thought. The BOGUS recovery numbers showing productivity up was worthless if jobs are not created.

With the population growth 3 million more people and with job growth 0 %, you need 3 million more new jobs every year or you need 250,000 more new jobs every month if your unemployment rate is 0 %. This is not a recession. There is not a recovery.

Hey Asiming- Did you know that a FULL employment rate is somewhere around 5%? Great statistics-If you only knew what the HELL you are talking about!!

Anyone remember Obama wishful (and lie) promise of the hundred of thousands jobs he will create by the summer of 2009 if he wins the elections? The naieve liberals believed his false promise and rhetorics. That makes me laugh when people only look at how a candidate can do smooth talk and think that candidate is the candidate to vote for. Of course they will make the same mistake the very next elections over and over and over and over.... and... and... and...

Unemployment rate was 2.8 % in 1984. Do your home work before you talk. After a few year, every body will know what we talk about.

What if cities use teachers salary to buy laptops in classrooms and claim to layoff teachers, then WH send billions to schools and SAVE teachers jobs --
1. Job 'saved' is fundamentally a hoax?
2. Is there only education industry in the US?
3. When a child says: my teacher get to keep her job but my parents are still out of work. Does that mean WH succeed?
4. Why teachers keep surfing internet using laptops paid by taxpayers in the classroom?

When Obama got up this morning and saw this 10.2% unemployment, he immediately and wisely shouted: IT'S BUSH'S FAULT,and if it's not, IT'S LADY GAGA'S FAULT; and if it's not, IT IS THE KARDASHIANS FAULT. Translation, it is somebody else's fault, not HIS....UM...UM...UM....

WOW, that stimulus is working now...

Keep in mind, Cap and Trade will push this number higher 10.2 will be nothing.

"10.2% Unemployment" - The state run media can spin this all they want, but 10.2 is 10.2. One in Ten are out of work. This is squarely in Obama's lap. Next time, remember, the Presidency is no place for On the Job Training.

It will stay at 10% until people eventually drop off the rolls. What has happened is that US companies have gotten LAZY. There's recruiting, no training, and in the end no job creation. I read yesterday that companies can't find "qualified" applicants to fill the many thousands of jobs that apparently are available (according to them). Apparently, the new paradigm says if you're smart, hardworking, committed, and engaging, it doesn't really matter as long as you can meet the exact qualifications stated on whatever job posting is available. So let corporations bitch about it while making some other poor slob (who is probably unqualified as well) double up on his work. Eventually, that job that was "so hard" to fill will just get absorbed into the company and the person working the two-jobs-in-one position will be the de facto trainee and the job will be his....at the same pay rate, of course.

It's only gonna get worse with d!ckhead ovomit in office!!

I guess Obama should have used his bailout funds and porkulus spending on fixing the economy (as he said he would) rather than bolstering and creating social services programs.

Does any rational person believe expanding handout services results in an improvement in anything? If so please cite a single example...I am sure the residents of Detroit will agree...just look at what it has done for the place!

Unemployment by the end of 1983 was 10.8%. Reagan was president but he had inherited the problem. By the end of 1984, unemployment was 8.3%. Look it up on Google. Go to unemplment rates by year and that will give you the unemployment rates each month back to 1980,

Does this rate include the people who choose not to work because now our government is giving them more benefits than they would get if they went to work everyday? How about those jobs being held by illegals while our citizens get fired because they've put in the years to earn more money and diligently paid their taxes?

Let's see. 10.2% unemployment a year into Obama's term is his fault.
But 10.8% unemployment two years into Reagan's presidency is Carter's fault.

What was it Obama told the public at large. I'm going to sign this 787 billion dollar stimulus package so that unemployment will not go above 8 percent. Those of you defending a liar, sure must be waiting for your free money from Obama's stash.
