China October auto sales up 72 percent on stimulus (AP)

Powered by tax cuts and stimulus spending, China's October auto sales soared 72 percent from a year earlier, outpacing U.S. sales for another month, according to data reported Monday. » Full Story on Yahoo! Finance

The only thing i can't figure is why China, with its (relatively) soaring economy, needs stimulus....

Oh, RIGHT -- they're communists. Makes you think, doesn't it???

Is it really? I never heard of that! Frustrated by being still single and not finding your Mr. Right? I know a hot and interesting place for wealthy people and their admirers named Billionairepal.com where I have met my boyfriend. You may take a look.

percents can be misleading, 1 growing to 2 is a 100 % increase. what were the real numbers? in a country whose population exceeds the population of the USA by more than 5 times, exceeding American car sales for one month really isn't a big deal.

If the Chinese economy grows too fast George Soros will send in obama to make the necessary corrections and collapse the Chinese economy.

American folks need more cars, but many can not afford to buy a new one since middle class is dispearing. In 5 years China auto market will hit 18-20 millions units annually vs US might be around 15-16 millions if we are lucky to turn around the economy soon...

China has the monopoly on manufacturing/exporting. They generate wealth from other nations. This doesn't suprise me that China are also selling more cars. Their economy is soaring cause they have a strong economic base in manufacturing/exporting.

The problem is America losing it's manufacturing base. After WWII America had the monopoly, Europe and Asia was left in ruins and needed somoene to supply them. America did this, but today companies can't afford to operate in America due to the high wages, unions, strict government regulations, etc and therefore bunsinesses flock to China.

Another thing, to remember is that cars are produced cheap in China and cost less to manufacture. Therefore businesses operating there can afford to adjust the cost of it's cars for a sale without losing to big of a profit. - Unlike America where it cost more to make the car and there left little wiggle room.

All the interest we are paying them on our national debt is providing them lots of money to buy cars.

GM has already announced that their going to use stimulus money that was extorted from US taxpayers to build factories in China.

Bet they won't have the same union issues to deal with, or the same environmental costs.

When dealing with a 3rd world country, yes China is a 3rd world dangerous country, they play by their own rules and not the worlds. They are the biggest polluters in the world and as such, do not have to factor into their costs money for a cleaner manufacturing plants and practices.

I remember China was a Third World Country before Bush borrowed all those Billions to fight the Iraq war.

These this is what happens when the failed leadership of the US leads into 2 wars and lose them.

China: 1.3 TRILLION people

USA: 305 MILLION people

Over 76% more people

"China October auto sales up 72 percent at 1.2 million vehicles amid stimulus program"

Wouldn't you say that comes under the category of:

"WOOP-DE-DOOO!!!!!!!!"

More people equates to more vehicles sold........(shrug)

Correct RichardO...the TAX CUT+STIMULUS=PROGRESS!!!!! They know that 2+2=4....and apparently our government has forgotten the basic principles of math. Sad...when we find ourselves trying to point out the obvious to our "leaders"...sad.

10 years ago Motor Trend magazine quoted the statistic that there were over 100 million people in rural China that had never even seen a car in person. The scary point of this story is that they are becomeing a wealthy country off our purchases, and financeing our debt for the last 8 years.
