Wake up people, I am a single mother not in debt making less the $35, 000 a year. Yet, my daughter could not get any money to help her with college because I was not in debt an owned a home. I will tell you, Washington SCREWS people who live on the money they earn and do not take HAND OUTS. What is wrong with this picture?

I see a lot of people are astonished here. Folks, what's astonishing is not that the companies continue to ask, its that the government continues to give. The US government gave these banks money with very few strings attached. The same people at these banks who helped put us here are still in their positions, as incompetent as ever. I can tell you that Wall St in general is full of idiots, people who are there only to make money and nothing more. Earnings are a benchmark on Wall St, the more you earn, the more likely you are to get promoted. So as long as the government allows the money to literally disappear, this will continue. Is there anything you can do about it? Yeah, stop voting in the same azzholes you vote in year after year after year after year after year after year. Just vote for a regular person who wants to do the right things, not a career politician whose best skill is conning and making speeches.
They should be indited for fraud, instead they are asking for bonuses! These people are no better than Madoff, yet they are so arrogant, they want us to believe they are talented and irreplaceable. A merciless bankruptcy is what the small business owner would have to do, and AIG should have to do the same, end this double standard nonsense. Our money hasn't bought us anything with these companies except, more debt. I suggest we find them a nice cell next to Madoff and call it a bonus that they weren't placed in with the general population!

We own a majority stake in AIG after we flushed BILLIONS of tax dollars down the crapper keeping them a float. Unfortunately we voted for this and elections have consequences. I don't care what athletes, entertainers or CEOs get paid, as long as it doesn't come from taxpayer funds.

Yea....ok....Did they actually think about that statement before it came out of the mouth!! If it's the money that came from the Gov't then no, they should not be awarded such "bonus's" but if it's money already earned from the business before the Gov't gave it to them, then yes, they are entitled. But because I am a practical thinker I would say this is not AIGs' money, it came from tax payers! What a bunch of bull pucky to even have the gall to ask!
WTF??? This is an outrage. I swear if the Government gives into this, there should be a beheading to the CEO`s and the Government officials who gave into this. Once again I`m sure the CEO`s aren't even doing there jobs anymore, they are too busy fighting everyday at work to get their bonuses, instead of reforming plans to fix this economy that they messed up so severely. I think AIG need to be shut down unless the can make new contracts for now on stating you get a bonus due to performance, and the situation the economy is in. Meaning if the American people had to bail you out with billions in t ax payers money then you don't get A f***ING BONUS!!!!
Sure - why not give yourselves bonuses - and how about some taxpayer funded vacations too. After all - it's summer time. Our politicians give themselves everything and do a horsecrap job. Why not you too. How much more of this are we taxpayers going to take?? We thought we would get "change" from Obama but instead the change we got was being screwed worse than any other has done to us. Meanwhile - the "moveon.org" that gathered all us college kids behind Obama turns out to be scam of a group funded by someone who has robbed more out of the US and so many countries in poverty than perhaps any other person in history. So it turns out that ALL politicians and their backers are nothing but crooks. We need fresh kids out of college not these career "organizers" who herd us like sheep to get them into power and then slaughter us once they get in power.

People. Where do you think the government borrows all this money to fund their bottomless pit social programs? They borrow from banks and insurance companies. The government bails out the banks and insurance companies and then turns around and borrows the money back from them. And why would the banking and insurance industries not jump at a deal like that. They get to charge the government interest to loan them back their own money (i.e. our tax dollars in both cases). And yet there are people who want the government to manage their healthcare also. Go figure.
