My current vehicle is 18 years old, runs on unleaded gas and can be totally recycled with no hazardous waste. However E-Check says it emits too much CO2 ( so do you and I) so I will have to scrap it..(More waste).
PS my guess is we will buy a foreign vehicle to replace it because we dont like Government motors.

The biggest problem creating the credit freeze is the most obvious:
Why would any lender risk lending their money ....when the government might step in a year or two from now and force them to lower the interest rate. Rates are based on risk. If a person gets an 8% rate that is because that is what the risk of lending to them is worth.
The first thing the government needs to do to free up capital is GUARANTEE banks especially smaller institutions - that they will NOT force modifications.
That will get lending going again. Until they do that only a fool would lend money.
Very simple.
